Hello, and thanks for reviewing the MEATER Pro. One of the main advantages of the new MEATER Pro design is its substantially better range than previous versions. Whereas the very first MEATER could reach a little over 30’ away, the MEATER Pro provides a total range of up to 250’, before even taking advantage of the MEATER Link or MEATER Cloud functionality. And while some appliances may have more of an effect on the connection between the probe and the charger, you should still be getting much better results than just 5’ away. As for the charging message, an insufficient charge can certainly have an impact on performance, though verifying that the probe and charger contacts are clean will make sure that it is not simply due to an obstruction between them when the probe is docked. But you’re not on your own to work out a resolution, and we have a lot of resources that can help available at support.meater.com. In addition to our Support Wizard, there is also an FAQ section that can address just about any question that you may have with your MEATER.
