Comfortable at an amazing price!

After weeks of watching videos and reading reviews I decided to buy the Discover 1. Im so happy with my purchase. The bike has just enough power in the PA levels to help you on those hills. I also like the battery is in the frame and not bulky like other ebike models. I think this is a great first ebike at an excellent price point.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great starter

For context I am 60 yo, in poor to moderate condition and bought this bike to allow me to start commuting and running errands by bike. My motivation is to incorporate more activity in my daily schedule and to reduce my carbon footprint. Really enjoying my Discover 1. Assembly took about 45 moving slowly and deliberately. Someone handy could do it in less, others may need a bit more but well designed parts and good video guides provided so should not be much of a challenge. All tools required are provided. In terms of performance I really appreciate the gears and brakes, both reliable and easy to use. A few extra gears would be nice but can’t have everything. In terms of the e-bike features the five graduations of assistance are more than enough. On full auto you can zip along at about 20mph on flat/small grade roads. On steeper hills bike pretty slow on full auto , 5-10mph but get to 20mp with just light peddling. Range is at least 30-40 miles with average use. May be more but I have not pushed the limits as I live on the top of a big hill and don’t want to lose power at the bottom. Bottom line, very happy with my choice and recommended strongly

Discover with some issues

The bike itself is nice my son loves it. Unfortunately it came with a defective part and the motor would not work. I contacted them and they said they would ship a part had to wait another week for the part to arrive but they didn't put my apartment number so they were goin to ship the part back to velotric. After waiting 2 weeks (1 week for the bike to get here and 1 week for the part to get here) I took it upon myself to wake up early the next morning and ho to the post office and was able to stop it. Then I had to install the part which wasn't too bad but it was alot on my part when I paid for a brand new bike and should of been able to just assemble and ride. But when everything was said and done so far its good

Not too bad

Convinced myself this was a good product. Good is the front shocks and control panel. Fair is the rest. Too much plastic. Assist blocks movement. Battery is heavy but is holding charge on 42 miles with 3 and 4 assist. Frame is too thick to fit on thule ebike rack. Have to make big adjustments there. Handlebar requires additional post to adjust, then you lose the front light. Plastic pedals, really?!? Loud noise when pedaling.
