Wonderful Bike

The bike is great. The way it was packed shows the fine attention to detail that goes into producing the bike.I thought that the enclosed getting started book was hard to follow. The online video on unpacking and how to put it together was much better. I felt that there should be more information made available on how to use the controls. I had to figure it out via trial and error.

Several Velotric Bikes are better than one.

I like them so much that our family has 5 of them so far. The quality, the quick delivery and the ease of assembly out of the box makes it a great experience. I will probably be purchasing 2 more for my other 2 kids in the near future. We live in Northern Oregon and are waiting for good weather to really try them out. Thanks for Everything, Mike

This is a fantastic e-bike at an affordable price. The wife and I absolutely love them This is my second e-bike and by far my favorite. I could have bought 6 Discovery 1 bikes for less than what’s I paid for my other e-bike. The bike rides very comfortable and shifts effortlessly and smooth. It makes me want to ride all the time. I do wish that it had 8 gears instead of 7. I find the pedaling to be too light even in the highest gear. I’m 59 years old and no cyclist by any means. Overall I highly recommend the Discovery 1 and absolutely am happy with purchasing two of them. The wife and I are beyond pleased with our bikes.

Missing part and HORRIBLE instructions

The bike itself if good to great. The fact that it was missing the front light mount, the front light doesn’t turn on, AND the instructions are poor to terrible...3 out of 5. Also the hardware like screws and nuts is super super soft “metal”.

Highly recommend paying the extra money to have it put together. Not for amateurs. Number of stars is based on this only. Haven’t had the chance to ride it yet.

First, the not so good stuff:1. I couldn't get the handlebar assembly to reach the stem. I thought it was the length of the brake tube, but it actually was a mis-routing of the brake tube. My local shop fixed it in no time.2. The assembly quick start did not match the bike as it was delivered. I imagine that it was written at the start of production and was not revised as changes were made. Small thing, but delayed me at assembly.3. Similarly, the manual is not clear on the battery charging system, which confused me for a while.NOW THE GOOD STUFF:4. The customer care guys were pretty good, and answered my questions quickly, taking into account the time zone difference (EST v. PST). Offered to pay for handle bar/brake tube issue at my local shop (they fixed in 15 min and charged a nominal fee (after giving me a little flack for not buying the Trek they offer)5. Its cold here, but I have ridden it to do a couple of errands and I think I am going to be happy. Have to get used to the way the pedal assist kicks in, and the weight of the bike as I stop for lites, etc. But it is going to be a great way for me to do errands most of the yer without using the car, or getting all geared up on my road bike and getting all sweaty as I travel to doc, church, store, etc.
