So Far It Is Just What We Hoped Fora

We took delivery of a Discovery 1 step-thru for my wife about three weeks ago, assembly was fairly easy and the necessary tools were enclosed with the bike. The rear derailleur needed adjusting, I found a couple of good YouTube videos which made adjustment easy. The front brake pads make a slight noise when the brakes are engaged, (the rear brakes are silent) so I will tinker with them in the future. The bike was purchased for pleasure/fitness riding and we wanted something with pedal assist/throttle helping in the lower speed ranges as we will ride on bike trails and not on busy streets, we did not need a bike capable of 28 MPH. The pedal assist speeds shown on YouTube reviews of the bike are spot on and the bike is very easy to pedal using pedal assist 0. The motor is very smooth when engaged and we were surprised with how quiet it is. It is easy to get your heart rate up even using pedal assist if that is your goal depending on which of the seven speeds you are in. We have only put 16 miles on the bike so far on three short rides (cold weather here) the battery still shows five bars, my wife uses pedal assist sparingly but she does use it. Thus far we have only ridden in the neighborhood as we become accustomed to the bike, so far so good. I have owned road, mountain and comfort bikes, this bike seems to be very well made and thought out.

Poor Instructions, Warped parts, Removed Review

Just downgraded you to one star. You removed my two-star review. Why? Your instructions are awful and incomplete. Major components are not included in the instructions. The instructions contain not only typos, but notes from an editor about the typos. (You printed the editor's notes and did not fix they typos.) A video I found online has complete instructions; and the bike seems to meet (or exceed) expectations. I put a heat gun to the warped fender and was able to reshape it. The instructions also indicate different fasteners than those found on the bike, and the assemblers torque the fasteners so tight, the included tools cannot loosen them. I was able to use my own M4 and M5 hex tools, and I made it work. Really disappointed you deleted my two-star review. Now you get one. Feel free to contact me. My email is here. The bike was ordered by my wife, so maybe you'd recognize her email? Proofread your stuff. Ridiculous that your instructions include notes by an editor about the errors and the errors are never addressed.
