Love my duffel. The most difficult decision was the color. Went with Black but may circle back for the heather green. Wouldn't mind having two, one of each color. And with December right around the corner cannot wait to receive my tripod.
Wondering what else is on deck in the near future.
This bag is heavy duty, the stitching is dense and the handles are sturdy. I can pack it out full and still feel happy knowing my stuff will get to the other side. What's more because it is a duffel, it doesn't have a metal frame like roller luggage so it is much easier to carry by the side handles. I am stoked with my purchase!
Ok so I love how comfortable this bag sits on me. Im a 5"5 110 female and I couldn't be happier at how easy it is for me to lug this around on my back. The other things I love, outside pockets, sleek design and rugged material. Now for the things I dont really love about the bag (because I like writing Honest reviews) 1: The way the bag zips open and close kind of annoys me a bit. Originally when I first pledged on Kickstarter they had the bag opening wide mouth with the corners of the zippers free so that you can really pack it up and still open it wide to get inside of the bag. They unfortunately changed it halfway through and the corners are now permanently attached to the rest of the bag making it aesthetically pleasing but kind of space waisting and hard to really get in there if its really packed with stuff. Now when i open the bag its tough to keep it open to easily grab or search for items even with the "clam shell like" opening. 2: The expansion is a love hate relationship. The expansion with no camera cubes inside is amazing, Giving you so much more space. But once you put the camera cubes in they fit nicely while in normal size but once you expand it, since the zippers are at the bottom now the cubes dont sit properly (they wont touch the bottom of the bag) and your items inside will migrate to under the camera cubes. I wish there were another set of loops in order to keep this from happening. 4: I also wish there were more inside pockets, or bigger ones.
This bag is so interesting. I'm currently in Rome on a student exchange for a couple of months and the last thing I wanted was a luggage that I had to drag around, if ever I wanted to travel before, during, after my studies. Looking into carry-on backpacks, I realised nothing would've been big enough for summer/winter clothes and everything I had to bring. Buying this bag was the best decision so far, because I can fit everything when I expand it, and when I finally settle down in an apartment and want to travel, I zip up the expansion, throw-in a daypack and have a very convenient set-up for easy traveling.
The accessorie straps are also just great. I attach them to the back of the bag and make my jacket hang from it for easy access. Or I use them to compress the bag a bit more and sneak it onto flights without having to check it in (hehe).
It is a bit expensive as a big if you are a student, but if you invest in it, I assure you it will be worth it and will last a life time. All around amazing bag.
Your 65L Duffelpack held my Osprey backpack, walking poles and more and worked great for checked luggage. I could easily carry it through the airport with one backpack strap since I was already wearing your travel backpack for carryon. As a side note, I stay super organized with plenty of your packing cubes. Thank you Peak Design for making my travel easy breezy.
This is a great bag and can be used in so many different circumstances from day trips to long hauls. Looks fantastic, feels fantastic and is so functional. Solid build also, doesn't fell cheap at all. The only down side to this bag is that the hip strap (the part that connects the two actual hip straps) can't be tightened more. I've got about a 31 inch waste and am a normal build but even at it's tightest setting it doesn't fit tight enough to make the hip straps offer much support. Other than that this bag is wonderful.
Own many other Peak Design bags and love them! Bought this for larger hauls, but it is so practical I use this bag for everything now!!! Used in conjunction with their pack cubes etc, packing is my favorite part of the trip!
I'm not big on writing reviews, but this needs to be said: I freaking love this duffelpack, it's a gentle beast :D Huge capacity and thoughtful design that makes the experience of using it just plain awesome. I freaking love this company as well, love their culture and their amazing customer service. It's really a pleasure to be able to own such amazing gear and at the same time supporting such an awesome group of people. Peak, don't ever change and you'll have a customer for LIFE.
