I almost didn't purchase this backpack for daily carry because it is designed primarily for camera, drone and other technical equipment. However, as of this review, I'm content with my purchase.
Here is what I like: * The material is top tier: durable and attractive * Stands on its own, which is nice when placing on the floor or loading/unloading laptop. * Adaptable: I've been playing with configurations and have found one that seems to work well. * Attractive: It has been receiving a lot of compliments and second looks. * Cool Features: I like the side access because nothing gets lost in the bag. Strap magnets are nice to have, though you have to deliberately engage them. Straps to tie on items are a smart feature. Mag clip works well and looks good.
Still getting used to: * Top/quick access storage for pens and other miscellaneous is a little awkward. * A bit bulky when tossing in the car. * Sternum strap takes a bit more focus than a standard clip. * So many storage locations for smaller items that I'm still trying to remember where everything is. * I have the larger version and have no problem losing / unloading laptop, however accessing other compartments in that section can be like sorting through file folders. Still getting used to that...
I'll likely buy their travel backpack as well.

This is the best backpack on the market. I have the large and small, loving both on them. Would definitely suggest.

great upgrade to what was already a great bag. I have used the V1 backpack for years as my daily carry to and from work, and it has enabled me to always carry my camera gear with me for those opportune moments when a camera comes in handy

I was exclusively using this for outtings with my camera, but I've gradually transitioned to using it for everything. It's my work bag and hiking bag with or without a camera. But let's get real, if you own PD stuff, chances are you carry a camera with you all the time. My Everyday bag is the camel/brown/tan one they had at one point, and I do not regret nabbing this stylish bag, especially since that colour is no longer available.

My goal was to find a decent camera backpack to hold my Nikon D500 with my Sigma 150-600 Contemporary Lens attached. The 20L does do just that. In fact, it holds my extra batteries, my 35mm lens, my charger, my camera strap, my .380 and an extra mag, my 13" MacBook Pro, my coffee thermos (on the inside), by water bottle (on the outside), and it has plenty of room to spare.

Fantastic engineering, but still can be improved

I write this review from the standpoint of a overall pleased user. This has been the best photography backpack I have ever owned. It is well-built, logical in construction, and is easy to access. I can even put it down and not worry about it falling over.
That said, I have some small gripes. 1. PD does not offer a good two-camera solution, for those of use who use two cameras simultaneously. The only way to really use two cameras is to hold one on a capture clip, ideally on the shoulder strap, and use the other camera. But the capture clip does not easily fit on the straps, and if the bag has weight, it will sit a little too high for the best mounting spot. (Also, a loaded clip makes it difficult to take the bag off to get other gear.) 2. The belt is underwhelming. Also, related to #1. It's hard to reach when switching lenses. 3. Since I use the bag for everything, I put flashes in the top. I would appreciate a drawstring inner mesh to make sure that things don't fall out when I whip that bag around to get out new gear. As a PJ, things move fast. If that drawstring mesh could be stowed out of the way, it wouldn't annoy other users who don't feel that it is necessary.

Best bag ever!

I was skeptical at first why it was so expensive, and was worried that it might wear down, but with the lifetime warranty and house food it is, you can't go wrong. I'm a student, and it's perfect. It fits everything I need, and when I have to bring an especially large textbook or notebook, it expands no problem. In my opinion, but this bag, and never but a bag again.
