I've been looking at this pack for probably a couple of years now, and finally pulled the trigger a few months ago. I wanted a backpack that allowed for better camera gear accessibility, and I appreciate the many thoughtful features of this one. I recently took it on a vacation trip that included some hiking and lots of time in airports. Things I really like - Visually, the design is very clean. The camera accessibility is great. You have the option of access from either side, and you can set up the partitions to suit your gear. Personally I'd like a better separation between the top section and the bottom section, as small items can fall down past the flexible partition into the camera section. I ended up using one of the Peak Design gear pouches to keep smaller items in place. I like the little zipper "locks". Whether they'd completely deter a thief, I doubt it, but they'd definitely slow them down a bit. With regards to the fit - I'm on the taller side (72"/182 cm), and I found the waist strap to fit higher than I'd like. It's not so much a hip belt as a waist belt - for me at least. I appreciate the fact that it can be stowed in the back of the pack, but some sacrifices are made in terms of comfort and load carrying. Carrying an SLR, a telephoto lens, wide angle lens, a smaller point and shoot camera, Nalgene bottle, a jacket, snacks, and some other gear -- I found that the narrow shoulder straps were less comfortable than my regular backpack, and I would think twice about taking it on an multi-hour hikes over rough terrain. The non-stretchy side pockets are also a bit limited if you've got some larger lenses/gear in the pack. In summary... if you're a gear nerd, you'll appreciate the features and thought that's gone into this pack. As an urban/light day trip hiking pack, this would be great. For longer trips with more gear, you'd probably want something bigger and with more padding. Just rec Those are my initial impressions from a 10-day trip, and I have yet to use it for cycling and other things that I do.
I am a fan of FDE and Coyote colors, and they do vary slightly from product to product; one thing Coyote isnt supposed to be is gold. Honestly, the bag is top quality, but them calling it Coyote is very misleading! If you want a bright gold bag that catches everyone's attention and says "I have expensive stuff in me, steal me, steal me!" Then this is the color wave for you! Otherwise, stick with black or gray.
The Peak Design Everyday Backpack 30L is a beautifully designed, versatile bag with exceptional build quality, making it perfect for photographers and commuters alike. Its innovative FlexFold dividers, weatherproof materials, and comfortable carry make organization and access effortless, elevating it above most other backpacks on the market.
I’ve been eyeing this backpack for a while and finally bought one, in coyote. I love all the organizations that this bag offers, tried it for a hike even! I knocked off one star because of two things: 1. The laptop compartment is SO TIGHT! Way too tight, I’m barely able to stick an iPad Pro with keyboard case and nothing else. 2. The side pockets are also SO TIGHT!! I had to struggle to stick an 18-oz water bottle in there.
Purchased in August 2022 This gear is amazing! The perfect life hack for an everyday backpack. I've been carrying it on my back every day for 800 days, covering 130k km through airports, rain, heat, cold, and much more. It still looks like new!
I recieved my bag after my previous bag got messed up through warranty. The customer service was amazing and understanding. The new bag is good quality and no issues! I like some of the features from V1, but overall I have been enjoying using the new bag.
This is by far the best backpack that I have ever owned. The durability and functionality that it provides on a daily basis is honestly unmatched by anything else I’ve ever had in the past. I love how many different pockets there are, and I also have a tech pouch that I can store securely in the backpack, but because there is easy access from the side zippers, I can get to all of my tech needs very easily .
