I own 4 of these bags of different versions and designs for my wife and I. We use them mostly for camera gear when traveling. Customization makes it great when you bring different camera and lens combinations so they suit us well. There are many other lighter less expensive options for people with few gear for always shooting the same kit. A few things can be improved: the side pocket configuration of the V1 bags was way better. Also the top strap does not allow to completely open the side pockets which is not preferred. I do like the better straps of the V2 version and the extra magnets. Still love these bags.
The magnetic latch (and magnet pockets and shoulder straps) and the origami dividers are what makes this bag for me. The fact that I have the option to either have a ton of different sections or a completely wide open space, is amazing. What a versatile bag. The other thing I really appreciate about this bag (and this company), is the attention to detail. This is a bag, yes..but it's also a piece of art! Ever since I received the everyday backpack as a Christmas gift last year, I have bought 3 more peak design bags. Definitely a lifelong customer!
I love this backpack! It stores all the lenses I might want for a trip, two bodies, tech gear, a raincoat, phone and wallet. It's the most versatile bag I've ever had and I love that I can go out in the ever-present PNW rain and everything stays dry. Just a great, comfortable bag.
I've travelled the world with this single backpack. Functioned from a lunch bag to storing medium format cameras shooting at a glacier mountain. Knowing there is a lifetime warranty, to this day I believe this factor alone is worth the investment. You invest in a PD product, they re-invest in a lifetime warranty. Well done, Peak Design.
I watched a half hour video about this backpack before buying it. Then I go to use it and learn even more features about it. Everything is so thoughtfully designed, from the magnets in the straps to the fact you can have a tripod bulking out of both pockets on the left and right and still open your bag from the side. It is so beautifully and thoughtfully designed I love it. I traveled to a different state recently and was able to pack enough clothes for 3 days, plus pack my camera, my laptop, and my iPad all into my backpack. Didn't even need a suitcase. I am falling in love with you guys and how thoughtful your products are made. THANK YOU ❤️
I was on assignment traveling throughout the EU this year. I made the mistake of taking my older, other brand backpack with me on the first few trips. I then invested and bought the Everyday Backpack V2. The difference in quality, design and ease-of-use was striking. I felt like I upgraded from a used Pontiac Aztek to a Porsche 911.
Peak Design thought of everything. So many things I flagged as problems from the previous bag were integrated as useful, intelligent solutions on the EDB. The external carry straps, quick-release top flap, magnetic should strap keepers. All of it. Traveling with a ton of gear went from a nightmare chore to actually kind of enjoyable.
Like my 6L Sling, I absolutely love this bag and evangelize for it wherever I go. I even ran into another photographer in Warsaw on my flight with the same backpack. We gave each other a satisfied look and confident nod. No words spoken, but we completely understood each other. Thanks for making this bag.
I have always used a messenger type camera bag, and never wanted a backpack one because I thought they would be hot and uncomfortable (thinking back to my college days and walking long distances with a heavy bag). Peak Design changed my mind about backpacks. I already had an everyday messenger that I loved, but I bought a new 200-500mm lens and was looking for a camera bag that would hold the camera with that lens attached. I also had some trips coming up, and figured a backpack would be easier to carry around at the airport.
I ended up absolutely falling in love with the 30L backpack. It is SO comfortable, and I don’t end up with a hot sweaty back like I was worried about. It holds a ton of gear, has small pockets for accessories, and larger pockets for a laptop/iPad etc. the back poacher is so large/deep that I lose stuff in it sometimes - my only complaint. Looks sharp and it’s the same great, rugged material as my beloved messenger bag. I recommend this bag often to to anyone who’s looking for a new camera bag.
This bag is my everyday bag, now - it fits as much or as little as I need, and has plenty of pockets and hideaway spots for all the various accessories that I like to keep with me. The only thing I wish it had were zippers on the interior pockets for the main compartment - the things I keep stashed there occasionally escape the magnet, and if it were zip instead of magnetized, I would be able to keep smaller things in there without worry that they'd fall out. Other than that, though, the bag is perfect for me.
