Great for city travel

This is an update to my prior review that gave this product 3 stars. After some traveling I actually really like this- with one caveat- not to use the Peak Design toiletries bag with it. I initially used them together and it was not great. The magnetic clasps are great when you don't want to keep zipping and unzipping and there is a decent amount of compartments. I got the color in white and it did not get any stains despite my not so gentle use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Feels really safe !

I use this bag as a non-photograph dude, I was searching for a solid tote to carry my everyday things since I don't like having my pockets full. And it definitely does the job ! While it may be a little to big, I guess that's what we should expect for something to be long lasting and resilient.

This is a quality product, it’s clearly been thoughtfully designed and well put together, it just doesn’t do it for me. After I bought a medium peak design sling, I got the tote for when I had more to carry. The bag, while being larger than the 6L sling doesn’t actually feel that much bigger. Maybe if I still carried around a 5D I’d appreciate all the thoughtfulness around camera/ tech carry, but ever since I switched to mirrorless, I need far less room and all the structure is wasted on the rest of my belongings. Because the bag is supposed to be protective for camera gear, it’s too stiff for things like my water bottle, book, jacket, journal, pens and I feel like I run out of room too easily. It’s also very heavy empty and will not squish down when only half full. It’s a great bag for the right person and I just don’t think I’m that person. The flaps are always snapping down on my fingers and the internal structure isn’t so flexible. I’m better off with the field pouch for my little Fuji kit in a lighter bag.

Used as a work bag

I have been using this bag for a couple months now for work and it’s great! The shoulder strap is comfortable. It has great storage features inside, plus the dividers that I used to make space for my water bottle. Only wish is the side pockets and extra storage pockets within were deeper and there was a place to store multiple pens.

Wanted to like it but didn’t

There are some really cool things with this bag. I like the magnetic closures they are really handy especially if you are in an airport where you open and close repeatedly and may forget a zipper open.
The main flaw for me was the design, I felt the bah too deep and the opening not wide enough. I had PeakDesign toiletries bag in there and only glasses, phone, travel documents in the outside pocket. Still the bag was bulging and it was hard to actually use it comfortably. Placing things in the outside pockets meant the opening was even smaller than it is. It’s same shame as this would have had a lot of potential.

I was looking forward to having a nice camera bag that could handle a regular size tripod but it’s my fault I didn’t look closer to the ad to notice the person demoing the bag was using the small Peak tripod, not a full size one. For a tall person, the cross bag strap is too short by 12” to 15” making it fit too high under my arm. Lastly the bag is very deep and the top opening too small making it difficult to find anything located in the bottom. I’d return the bag but I’ve used it once and taken the tags off. On the positive side, the bag is very well made and I like the magnetic closures instead of Velcro.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great versatile tote with options!

I had bought this tote about a month ago and I have to say that I still love it! I collect tons of totes and they tend to find its way to the back of my closet… however; the everyday tote by Peak design has been in my daily rotation when going into the office. The option shoulder strap has been able to free my hands multiple times, the compartments inside provided some organization in my life that I need, and it being waterproof has been amazing. I had water spillage inside my back by a faulty thermos and with my laptop inside!! Luckily, it was stored in its laptop compartment and saved me some heartache! Highly recommend the tote!

That extra storage

I am big on bags that pack away into a small footprint for storage and this bag really fits the bill. When not in use it fits in my hand with ease. It also fits nicely in my car, my purse, or another bag without causing a bulge. When open it can be used instead of a purse or other carry all. It is very roomy for its size. In fact the only thing I would improve is the volume it will include when open. It is a little small for some things. Perhaps a medium and a large size would compliment the original size. Even the original size is great to keep with you for those quick trips to the camera store when you want to keep that new lens incognito in the van.
