[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL PartyLight Beam is an impressive addition to any party setup, combining vivid light displays with Bluetooth connectivity for seamless control. This compact, cylindrical light packs a punch with vibrant colors that sync to the rhythm of the music, creating an immersive atmosphere for all kinds of events.
The built-in light shows are dynamic and customizable through the JBL PartyBox app, which allows you to easily adjust colors, patterns, and speed to match the party's vibe. It features a variety of modes, from pulsing beats to slow fades, making it versatile enough for both energetic dance parties and laid-back gatherings.
One of its standout features is its portability. It’s lightweight and compact, making it easy to set up and transport, while still being durable enough for outdoor use. The rechargeable battery offers long-lasting performance, so you can keep the party going without worrying about frequent recharges.
Overall, the JBL PartyLight Beam is a must-have for anyone looking to elevate their party experience with captivating light effects. It's intuitive to use, offers great flexibility, and delivers a lively, colorful ambiance that enhances any celebration.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's cool little product which makes parties more interesting and unique. The best part is that you can connect to a speaker and it would sync to the music. Seems like a great product for birthday parties and house parties.

Time To Light Up The Party!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that JBL strives to be innovating in not only sound - but in all dynamics connected to the wonderful feeling that music gives us. My review today is unlike previous reviews I've done for JBL's impressive products as today I am reviewing the JBL PartyLight Beam.
This is my first party light of this kind, but, for a newbie – I must say I thoroughly enjoyed testing out this light because of its compatibility to the JBL PartyBox series speakers. Already owning the PartyBox Club 120 speaker, I found the PartyLight Beam super easy to set up as it really is a plug-&-play accessory.
Fresh out of its shipping package and product box, you'll find the PartyLight Beam, a power adaptor and a user manual. Along the side of the PartyLight Beam, there's an On/Off power button, a triangular-shaped button to sync to your PartyBox speaker, and a lightshow button that you can use to manually navigate through the different light features. Plug it in, and one tap of the power button and you're ready to get the party started!
Most (maybe all) JBL products allow you to experience their greatest features through the use of their mobile-controlled apps, so for this, you will need to download and install the JBL PartyBox app. It's free in the Apple Store and the Play Store and works on both iOs and Android devices.
Once you open the app, the app begins to scan for nearby devices compatible to the app and it will automatically add your products quick and easy. The app for this is straightforward and user-friendly - not complicated at all.
Currently, there are 5+ light styles that are available as presets to choose between, but one thing I've noticed is that sometimes when you open the app, you'll get a push-notification that your firmware needs to be updated - which is great because it's keeping your JBL product up to date and sometimes this means new features that weren't initially there - so, I personally love that and how JBL keeps your experience fresh each and every time.
In addition to the current light styles available, you can also adjust between a few color presets, or customize your color selection in the Color Picker palette.
Probably the coolest feature to me is that the PartyLight Beam can sync to the light show happening on your PartyBox speaker keeping the colors in sync with one another. When I think of a fun party, I envision loud music and bright lights - and this pairing gives you just that! I think it's pretty cool that JBL added this feature because it's just the right kind of feature to give a party a certain vibe.
Luckily though, JBL included the ability for manual control so that the PartyLight Beam can have it's own separate lightshow identity which I also appreciate. Imagine the dynamic of having two different yet awesome looking light shows happening at the same time - all the more reason to love how these two products pair together!
In the event you don't want your JBL PartyLight Beam's light show to sync with the light show from your PartyBox, what's cool is that the Beam has a built-in microphone that detects the music playing (or ambient sound, in general) and it can adapts to give you a light show specifically to the vibe happening at the time. I found this feature to be awesome because it goes to show that the light show is more so random than completely repetitive. I like that.
Another awesome feature is that you can control the speed of how fast the light show is going. There are two options: turtle, or rabbit – with the ability to select a speed right down the middle of the two. This is great for the vast difference between fast music and slow grooves. And last (but not least), you can adjust the brightness of the lights which is cool because sometimes a dim light sets a calmer mood.
What's great is that while you can control these in depth through the app, there is a physical button along the side of the JBL PartyLight Beam where you can manually adjust to most of its features.
For this to be my first party light, I must say I'm floored. JBL never ceases to amaze me with their innovative technology and I love seeing their growth advance year by year and product by product. I honestly can't wait to host my next party - my PartyBox gets loud and my PartyLight Beam gives a cool vibe. Good work JBL!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never used a party light before, but after trying out the JBL Partylight Beam I am impressed. It’s smaller than I thought it would be but it really got bright. The room I used in was about the size of an average living room. I like the different colors you can choose from using the app.

Become a Party Rizzler with JBL LightBeam

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Elevate the vibe at your next social gathering with this the Party LightBeam. It displays a nice pallete of night shade colors on walls and ceilings; helping to bring the party energy to your own personal living space, or just about anywhere else you please. It’s very portable and easily fits in a backpack or tote. My only critique is that it feels more like a spot light than a “beam” as indicated in the product title. As long as you are not expecting a laser light show, you will be more than happy with its performance.

Great addition to the PartyBox

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First Impressions:
The light beam is very well-made and designed to match the aesthetics of the PartyBox speaker. They have the same color combinations with orange details and present a consistent image on both devices. I really enjoy having them side by side and enhancing the party/vibes. It is important to note that the light is quite small. It does produce a powerful light show, filling an entire room or backyard. However, it is the size of the JBL Flip Essential speaker or just a little smaller than a regular plastic water bottle. I was expecting a bigger light after seeing the images on the website.
_______________
Lighting Performance:
I like that an RGB and LED are built into the speaker side by side. While the RGB beams provide great and accurate colors in most cases, the LEDs project various effects such as circles, and strobes. The RGB section of the beam syncs with the inner circle colors (infinity icon-like lights). The LED section syncs with the top and bottom strip lights sparkles and the sparkles located around the inner circle. The PartyLight Beam does a good job of switching back and forth and matching with the light show on the PartyBox. However, while the beat synch is there, the PartyBox misses the beats sometimes and plays random lighting. Naturally, this affects the performance of the Beam. It leads to a light show that might not be fully aligned with the playing tracks. Then, as the PartyBox switches the lights at a very fast pace, in some scenarios, the Beam cannot keep up with the color changes or projects different colors than what is on the PartyBox. It is a minor detail for some but as a visual person, I noticed it very quickly. When this does not happen, the light synchs with the PartyBox very smoothly. I was surprised to see how well it keeps up with the speaker in some modes and color combinations. It perfectly matches the beat and light show on the speaker like lighting engineers or VJ in concert venues or nightclubs. The Beam works as a projection expansion to the speaker. Meaning, that whatever light show the speaker produces, it takes that and projects it on a bigger scale, significantly enhancing the quality of the party and energy. The speaker is great for outdoors as well. As long as there is a surface that the Beam can be directed to (such as a wall in a backyard or even trees at a park), it will produce great light shows.
_______________
JBL PartyBox App:
The application helps the Beams's performance significantly. It enables the user to easily customize and change modes very seamlessly. There are controls for speed and brightness as well and it makes the Beam a lot more entertaining. However, there could be more light control, modes, and options and possibly manual control for certain settings. Overall, the app is a great addition to the product. In my opinion, the Beam should be always used with the app to truly get the best out of the product.
_______________
Side Note:
The PartyBox speaker can be used wirelessly for 12 hours, and it has a removable battery, providing users with more than 12 hours of playtime if needed. However, the PartyLight Beam must be connected to an outlet and the AC power cable is quite short (2m) if there are no outlets nearby. It would have been great if the Beam was battery-powered. Even better, if it came with a standard USB Type-C input, the Beam could have been operating with the power from the PartyBox speaker. As many PartyBox speakers have a USB Type-A output to charge devices, that slot could have been used to run the Beam with no additional cables or power sources. Since the Beam is a substantial addition to the speaker, it would have been great to have the option to easily use them both anywhere.
_______________
Overall Opinion & Final Verdict:
The PartyLight Beam is an exceptional addition to the PartyBox speaker. It seamlessly amplifies the impact of the light show on the speaker and significantly increases the energy of the party. I would recommend this light over any other third-party lights in the market that are similar to the beam. It syncs with the speaker, is very well-made, customizable, and matches the aesthetics of the speaker. It can also be used as a background or ambient light in addition to its main purpose. Although the Beam is a great product with many useful and fun features, I believe it can get better over time as well. Especially the way it syncs with the PartyBox and its controls on the JBL app. However, at the moment, I do not see any other lights performing better than this one when paired with the PartyBox speakers. As I value visuals, lights, and effects in parties or gatherings, the PartyLight Beam is a valuable asset to my party essentials.

Excellent event enhancer, but setup takes time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Partylight Beam has potential to be a great addition to your collection if you are looking to create a party atmosphere or to add some great ambiance for performances if you’re a solo or small musical act or planning a karyoke night anywhere. As a bonus, this is really small device that packs a big punch of light, making it easy to move and set up.
Once you finally get this set up and working, it does a great job of pairing with the PartyBox 320 (or any other compatible device) and enhances the light show by filling the space with moving lights. The lights sync nicely, changing colors together and moving at the same time with each other, but in complementary styles instead of in exactly the same pattern, which is great.
However, the set up process is quite cumbersome, and I highly recommend doing it a day before you have an event planned. My friend and I spent 1 ½ hours getting the apps and devices updated and everything synced, and even then, the app didn’t work correctly. We could get the Partylight and Partybox to sync with each other easily, but we could not get the app to work once they were synced to be able to control the light settings from the phone. The only way to adjust the settings for the lights was to manually do so from the Partybox.
Overall, this will be a great addition to enhance your event, but be aware that you will probably need to install several time-consuming software updates. Right now, the software isn’t working quite as smoothly as it should, but I expect that JBL will get those issues worked out over the next software update or two.
