Clicks, water flowing, gear sounds followed by pauses, and electric hum sounds are all part of the normal wash cycle. Balance issues

Junk always off balance have to go in and rearrange items in there when it’s off balance very noisy. Had for three months and had to replace the drum due to it being of balance all time

We're sorry to hear about the tub needing to be replaced. We're glad that you got in touch and was able to get this resolved. We'd like to offer some tips that can help prevent out of balance conditions.

You will always want to check and see if your unit is completely leveled to the ground. This can prevent out of balance conditions and prevent overcompensation during the spin cycle. To level the washer, adjust the leveling legs by rotating the individual leg in the proper direction for up or down.

It is also important to load the washer optimally, to prevent one side from being heavier than the other. The best way to achieve a balanced load is to load dry items evenly and loosely around the outside of the basket, filling in towards the center on larger loads. Absolutely worst washer we’ve ever had

Washer is TERRIBLE , doesn’t fill all the way, doesn’t drain all the way, doesn’t clean all the clothes in the bowl, the bowl rocks and bangs in every load. Junk! And you can’t connect with a real person at GE to get a solution! Buyers beware of this crap

We are sorry to hear of your experience with this washer not properly filling or draining. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Most washers, such as this one, are now programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount of water used will vary. We also advise properly loading this machine to minimize the tub rocking back and forth. We encourage you to load dry items loosely in the washer basket. For best results, load items evenly and loosely around the outside of the basket, filling in
towards the center on larger loads. In regard to the draining issue, we recommend scheduling service with our Bodewell technicians to ensure the normal operating of this washer. Small and loud

It’s too small and it doesn’t have a light inside as my old one did. I ask for a model like the one I had and they said this was it but it’s too small and doesn’t hold as much, is loud and moves a lot

Features I actually use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love to have every feature available, whether I use them or not! This washer is one of the few appliances I have that I actually use most of the features on.
Prior to this unit, I hadn't used a top load washer for about 15 years. Washers have come a long way since then! I did have to adjust my mindset to the new sounds they make and ways they operate.
My favorite option on this washer is the smart dispense. It's so nice to just add detergent every couple of weeks instead of every load. Especially when you have kids using it. The unit dispenses the perfect amount and then notifies me when I need to refill it. I've never had clothes that had too little or too much detergent in the load.
My spouse likes to use the Bulky cycle, which fills the washer to the top with water, but I haven't even seen the need to use that much water. This unit washes my blankets and large loads great without it. I will sometimes add a little more water to a larger load, but I'm not even sure it needs that.
This washer cleans fantastic, without taking a long time. My normal cycle time is about 35-40 min. Even if I add an extra rinse, more spin and wash time, my cycle is about an hour.
The best thing about this unit is the app! I can change my default cycles - I like to wash my towels in hot water so I changed that cycle in my app. I added more spin time to every cycle so my clothes dry quicker in the dryer, I added an extra rinse on my whites cycle, since I sometimes use bleach. The app also lets me use the washer as a sink, with the water station feature. You can soak clothes before washing them. The app shows how much hot and cold water my washer uses. It notifies my when the load is almost done or done, so I don't have to watch it and wait to move the load. You can ask the app what cycles to use for certain fabrics and stains. The app is always updating with new features and capability. Since my washer is connected to wifi l, I get automatic updates to my washer. I haven't had an issue with my washer, but do like that it could be troubleshooted over wifi if I did.
Overall a great experience so far.

Horrible piece of junk!!

Frustrating piece of machinery. I bought both this washer and dryer and immediately started having problems with the washing machine. Will not hold water, even on the deep fill cycle so the clothes are agitating in about an inch of water. Tying the clothes into knots. Then the dispensers are still full of water when the cycle is done. Terrible experience. I will NOT buy another GE appliance. While this was still under warranty I had a tech come out, ordered repair parts, installed them and still the thing doesn't work.

It is not abnormal to see the detergent dispenser have water in it after the wash cycle has complete, as this is to ensure the detergent has been flushed into the wash tub. However, we do advise getting this Deep Fill issue properly addressed, as the unit should hold the extra water that has been added to the tub.
