Fast SSD and Quite Portable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just got the new Samsung T9 Portable 1TB SSD drive. The drive is unexpectedly small and quite attractive with a rubber-like covering. I’m very pleased that the drive comes with both USB-A and USB-C cords for attaching to most any type of device.
The drive is connected via USB-C to my Mac Studio computer. The Mac OS instantly recognized the drive and allowed me to format it for my Mac (Mac OS Extended Journaled). I tested the speed with a disk speed test utility, which reported 829.8 MB/s (write) and 890.8 MB/s (read). The speed is approximately 11X faster than my other USB external drives.
I am struggling with the included Samsung PSSD utility. The app always tells me that the drive is not connected although my Mac sees it and allows me to use it. I’ve tried all of the Samsung troubleshooting suggestions for Mac OS, but it still remains unusable. That really makes no difference for me to use it.
Nevertheless, I like everything about the Samsung T9 Portable 1TB SSD drive. It’s a great addition to my system.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received the product, I knew exactly how to test it. I'm a Streamer, so I transferred almost 500gb of video files. My computer took about half an hour to transfer the files. It's about the size of a credit card. My only issue is that the matte finish is not made for households with pets. Technically speaking, it's solid. I love it, and fully recommend it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm genuinely impressed. As someone who's relied on the older 500GB version, I can attest to Samsung's track record for reliable portable SSDs. This sleek and compact 1TB storage drive, with its stylish black, angled design, has quickly become a successor.
One notable feature is the Samsung program that allows you to control and secure your data with a password. Plus, the inclusion of one USB C and one USB B cord ensures compatibility with various devices.
The black textured material adds a nice tactile dimension, and it's evident that Samsung's commitment to quality shines through in this product. Great for Mobile Devices

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, what a great addition to my mobile system. For a few years, I've abandoned my MacBook Pro and do all of my work on my iPad Pro. I do mostly photo and graphic design, and transfer large files back-n-forth to clients and printers. Although the iCloud is a fantastic source for storage, sometimes it's useful to have access to files and assets where the internet is not so great.
The Samsung T9 Portable SSD is the perfect portable device that I can tuck into my iPad travel case and take it wherever I go. Because it's small and quite tolerant to handling, I never worry about it being damaged.
So simple to use. I just plugged it into my iPad with the included USB-C cable, and there it is, with all of my files. And did I mention, "It's so fast?" The transfer rate is incredible.
What more can I say? I really like the Samsung T9 Portable SSD and so glad to have it.

I was fortunate enough to try the Samsung T9 SSD because someone in my household was chosen to participate in a campaign. First off, this thing is FAST. I'm constantly transferring photos from my camera, and it being a DSLR those pictures are huge in size (Usually between 12-22MB) and I did not have to wait long to transfer them to the ssd.

Amazing SSD

So we use this for our Tesla as we needed something with a fast read and write speed to capture the footage from the cameras. The rugged design is perfect as it helps absorb the shock of a moving car. I love the textured feel and the size. It is super easy to export files from thhe drive to my computer. The perfect tech addition.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First and foremost, huge thanks to #Samsung and #TheInsiders for their #SamsungPortableSSDInsiders campaign and an amazing deal for Samsung T9 SSD 1 TB. I use it mainly to carry my lossless music, few downloaded movies, some important files and software.
This T9 SSD is pretty light-weight (only 4.3 oz) and slightly larger than a credit card. The SSD is made in Korea, and its data cables are made in China. Two cables are included: one is USB-C to USB-C and the other one is USB-A 3.0 to USB-C. Both cables are 0.5 meters long and sturdy. It comes pre-formatted with exFAT. Reportedly, this drive has 170 GB cache, which helps with extremely fast file transfer.
Positives points:
+ T9 SSD has aluminum case, and covered with non-slip rugged rubber exterior, which is certified for 3 meters of drop protection
+ It has internal thermal (heat) protection, so it never gets hot
+ Complete silent operation
+ Durable, has 5 year warranty
+ Blazing fast file transfer. For small files, sometimes the transfer window does not even appear on screen

During my tests, I was getting around 790 mbps transfer rate which is quite fast enough. To transfer a 16.0 GB folder (see pictures), which contains some FLAC music and large size pictures, using a Thunderbolt 3 cable connection, it took about 20 seconds. Overall, I'm extremely happy with Samsung T9 SSD. It is my new go-to drive to carry large and important files. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Excellent Portable SSD!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung T9 Portable SSD is nearly perfect! It is faster than all of my other portable SSDs. I can confidently and quickly back up my photos from my mirrorless camera on the go or while travelling. I am able to even connect it to my smartphone to record 179 minutes of ProRes Log 4k/24p footage! It is very durable and built well. My only wish is that it supported Thunderbolt 4 instead of USB 3.2 2x2, as I do not have a device that can take advantage of this technology.
