Not what I expected from Whirlpool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator with ice maker/water dispenser in the door apparently has a manufacturing defect which causes the upper left door to close on its own by about 3/4 when you need it to stay open. It is a replacement for another of the same style which did the same thing. I thought the problem was a fluke or I wouldn't have replaced it with the same model. The last installer made sure the door stayed open before he left, so all looked good. It only began closing on its own when the fridge reached operating temperature, and BEFORE any food was placed it in. The problem continues once stocked. Closing can sometimes be limited to half-way by holding the door open for 30-60 seconds. Otherwise the door closes fairly hard and painfully on one's shoulder and back. I hope Whirlpool pays attention to this issue. It took 5 months to get a replacement when repairs over the previous 2 months didn't work.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fridge has problems keeping a steady temp. The main fridge stays steady but the freezer and the fridge/freezer compartment wont keep a steady temp. Also when the ice maker needs water to make ice it is extremely loud.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t even have it for a week and the water pipe froze. So , no drinking water until the parts come in. The warranty department decided that it wasn’t going to be replaced. It was going to be repaired and since I have a flight of stairs to my kitchen, I did not want one to go down and want to come back up. We already had enough wall damage. I know these things happen so patience is a virtue. It’ll be fixed and it’ll be perfect. but it is the best set up of a refrigerator. I absolutely do love it.

Very Poor Design and Functionality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this refrigerator with my new home earlier this year, and it has been a constant frustration. The right freezer door repeatedly locks after opening and requires excessive force to reopen. A technician even told me that other Whirlpool techs consider this “normal,” which is unacceptable. When I reached back out to Whirlpool for a replacement or to speak with someone higher up, they dismissed my concerns entirely.
The interior layout is also extremely limiting. You essentially have to choose between storing wine bottles or basic large items like milk, juice, or water. Even everyday items like maple syrup or Parmesan only fit in awkward spots. It has changed how I shop because I have to plan carefully just to make groceries fit.
If you have a larger family or children, this refrigerator is absolutely not a practical choice. I would not recommend it.
