Will not cool to temperature setting
on July 15, 2024

I purchased this in May 2024, installed mid June, started using it in July. Install was easy and once in I turned the unit on to be sure it worked and since it did I thought it was going to work fine. This unit is installed in a bedroom approx size 10'x12' and should easily keep it cool enough for sleeping. It does not, even at the lowest temperature setting it will not cool much below 70* I does run fairly quiet but not very cooling at all. Very disappointed.

Hi there. Thank you for reaching us. I'm so sorry to hear that you're having a disappointing experience with your LG air conditioner (LW8024R). I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to install a new unit, excited to start using it, and then find out it's not meeting your cooling needs.

First and foremost, I want to apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment you're experiencing. It's unacceptable that our unit is not performing as expected, especially in a bedroom where it's supposed to provide a comfortable sleeping environment. Please reach out to us on social media @LGUSSupport so we can help you further. ^Cris

My a/c

This is my third LG air conditioner that I own.
I installed this a/c on July 10, 2024 and I can honestly say that I'm very satisfied with my purchase. This is a very good air conditioner, runs very quiet. its two speed are enough to cool any room and I have notice that as soon as its turn on, you feel the breeze in circulation.
I am very happy with my purchase and if need be, I will buy the same brand again.
Pros: ease of use, Quality, Style/Design, Features/Settings, Performance

Works well on cool but energy saver is too warm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this unit since early June and it has definitely gotten a lot of use! The unit has been reliable and works well on the cool setting. However, I have been very disappointed in the energy saver setting. We own multiple LG units and the energy saver feature on all of these allows you to set the temperature. This unit has an energy saver default of 78 degrees which is too warm. The actual temperature of the room ends up being around 80.

Hi there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re glad to hear that your LG unit model LW8024R has been reliable and performs well on the cool setting. However, we understand your disappointment with the energy-saver setting, especially since it defaults to a temperature that feels too warm for your needs.

To help address this, please ensure that the unit is properly set up and not obstructed, as this can sometimes affect the performance of the energy saver feature. Unfortunately, some units have fixed default temperatures for energy saver modes, but you can manually adjust the temperature settings using the cool mode to better suit your preferences.

Worst LG I have owned

There is no ecomode like on the other LG window units I've purchased. If you set the mode to energy saver the unit will keep changing the temp from 72 (lowest temp it will allow) to 78 own its own. So you have to keep the mode on cool at all times so even if the compressor isn't on the fan stays on at all times. This defeats the units purpose of keeping the room cool.

CHEAP

The unit cools well. But manufacturing is cheap. I can see thru the vents. I can see the black pulley inside as its sitting idol or going around in circles. Also can see the white foam backing in there. Very disappointed in the appearance. I have another LG window air conditioner that is normal. I cant see any mechanisms inside. I will not purchase another LG.
