Noisy and compressor issues
on July 3, 2026
Posted by: Kl4738
Purchased 3 years ago, and have had these issues the entire time
Extremely noisy. Not only is the compressor quite loud, but the fan vanes rattle.
The fan vanes also don't control the air flow very well. All of the air seems to be coming out of the gap above the fan vanes.
Additionally, on the hottest days, the compressor seems to give out and the unit refuses to power on for more than a minute at a time.

The unit cools well. But manufacturing is cheap. I can see thru the vents. I can see the black pulley inside as its sitting idol or going around in circles. Also can see the white foam backing in there. Very disappointed in the appearance. I have another LG window air conditioner that is normal. I cant see any mechanisms inside. I will not purchase another LG.

Worst LG I have owned
on July 8, 2025

There is no ecomode like on the other LG window units I've purchased. If you set the mode to energy saver the unit will keep changing the temp from 72 (lowest temp it will allow) to 78 own its own. So you have to keep the mode on cool at all times so even if the compressor isn't on the fan stays on at all times. This defeats the units purpose of keeping the room cool.

I hate this air conditioner! It is too noisy for a bedroom. I can't figure out how to clean it enough for the CF to go away.

Hey there! Thanks for sharing your LG A/C experience with us. Keeping your home refreshingly cool is our top priority, so we'd love to help maintain that!

To start with cleaning and maintenance, we have a guide on our page at http://spr.ly/6428UYJ02 that walks you through how to clean and maintain your LG A/C. If dust, a foreign object, or an obstacle is present in a place through which air from the air conditioner passes, a loud fan sound may be heard. This may be the cause of the noise you're experiencing. You can find more information on our page at http://spr.ly/6429UYJ0N.

If you still need help, please connect with us on social media @LGUSSupport with your contact info and model number. We'll gladly continue helping out! *Joseph

Works well on cool but energy saver is too warm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this unit since early June and it has definitely gotten a lot of use! The unit has been reliable and works well on the cool setting. However, I have been very disappointed in the energy saver setting. We own multiple LG units and the energy saver feature on all of these allows you to set the temperature. This unit has an energy saver default of 78 degrees which is too warm. The actual temperature of the room ends up being around 80.

Hi there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re glad to hear that your LG unit model LW8024R has been reliable and performs well on the cool setting. However, we understand your disappointment with the energy-saver setting, especially since it defaults to a temperature that feels too warm for your needs.

To help address this, please ensure that the unit is properly set up and not obstructed, as this can sometimes affect the performance of the energy saver feature. Unfortunately, some units have fixed default temperatures for energy saver modes, but you can manually adjust the temperature settings using the cool mode to better suit your preferences.

My a/c

This is my third LG air conditioner that I own.
I installed this a/c on July 10, 2024 and I can honestly say that I'm very satisfied with my purchase. This is a very good air conditioner, runs very quiet. its two speed are enough to cool any room and I have notice that as soon as its turn on, you feel the breeze in circulation.
I am very happy with my purchase and if need be, I will buy the same brand again.
