Absolutely worth the upgrade

My next 24 hour event isn't for another month, but so far this has been an excellent watch with long battery life and great tracking. Added benefit of the built in LED flashlight has come in handy many times during early morning rides digging around in the back of the car for lost items. Great for an experienced outdoors person for long treks.

Exceeds expectations.

Every feature about this watch, I love. There’s two features that I wish it did have. One; I wish it had a “Find My” iPhone feature. Two;would be the rucking fitness activity. Otherwise the battery life exceeds my expectations, the fit of the 51 mm is amazing, and I am continually impressed by the durability of this thing. I’ve whacked it several times and I thought each whack was going to leave a permanent patina, but so far nothing has happened.

First time Garmin owner

Coming from an Apple Watch Ultra I wanted two things. Longer battery life and better analytics when tracking workouts. The fenix 8 does those both of those things very well. I am so used to having to charge my watch every night and it took me a while to remember this one doesn’t need it for at least two weeks! I have also pleasantly enjoyed the flashlight, not something I thought I would use as much as I have been. I thought I had made a mistake getting the 51mm considering my wrist aren’t the biggest but it does not look cumbersome or heavy on my wrist.

Garmin Fenix 8 is a Great Companion

Having been using a much less expensive yet highly functional athletic smart watch, I was extremely pleased with the light weight and user friendly interface of the Garmin Fenix 8. I have been using the watch now for around a month now and I find customizing watch faces and setting other shortcuts to be very intuitive. I am especially fond of the seamless communication of the watch with my Strava account. I didn't think I'd use the watch's flashlight as much as I do, but I typically use this over my iPhone's flashlight. It's definitely worth the steep price tag!

Worth the upgrade from the 7x pro saphire

Everything the 7x pro saphire solar had plus the additional voice features! In my opinion this can be a lifesaver on a mountain bike. I have received phone calls through the watch and used the watch voice command features and love them! the built in voice features save so much time from scrolling through the menus when you can just tell it to start tracking a run or take your heartrate, show blood oxygen level etc... I setup the voice and phone features as button shortcuts to make it even faster (they are not setup as shortcuts by default). The only downfall Garmin still has now is the charging port is their proprietary 4 pin cable. Just one extra cable you have to bring with you on long trips. I am consistently getting about 12 days of heavy use per charge out of this watch.
