I looked long and hard to determine if I want the 6L or the 3L. I eventually settled on the 3L as an everyday carry. The most amazing thing is the flexibility of this to fit pretty much everything without wasted space. My particular use case includes using it during travel and have it fit inside other larger bags so wasted space is a huge concern.
The build quality is excellent and I expect this to last for a very long time. Coming from the old v1 10L I'm very happy to have the usability of the the one but with much better weight management at this size. During the current COVID19 situation this everyday carry helps me with bringing hand sanitizer, face masks, and other daily essentials!
I bought this 6L sling bag for my Sony A7III camera with the kit lens. It is perfect for just getting out with my camera, phone, and other essentials (including hand sanitizer right now) being compact light and stylish. It is very comfortable to wear and my camera is easily accessible. I am very happy with my choice.
If you're looking for the PERFECT bag--this isn't it.
But of course, if you're like me, you know by now that you're NOT going to find the PERFECT bag. My main travel bag is a Lowepro AW 450--and I love it, but I feel like a Teenage Mutant Turtle running around town with it. I specifically bought this bag for the days I do not need to patrol the streets for Master Splinter and can head to the pizza joint on my own accord. I couldn't decide between the 3L & the 6L and after holding the 6L in my hands--I am glad I went with the 6L. It's big enough that I can take my Sony A7ii and lense, along with some EDC stuff. But small enough that my phone, day planner and a few Moment Lenses and battery pack work and maybe even a phone gimbal? (which is what I want to eventually get down to). If I can ever talk myself out of handwriting in a day planner and just rely on my phone I can reduce the EDC to a 3L.
Upgrading from the old 5L I expected to love this bag. The slightly large size, as well as external carry straps and better quick adjuster I always wanted on my sling, should be perfect.
However, despite being larger the interior pockets are smaller. The stretch ones seem smaller, the zippered one definitely isn't as deep. The zipper goes further down on the bag but because it goes straight down rather than angles towards the front, the old sling actually opens much wider.
Next, the strap, the padded section is much longer, comfortable when wearing over the shoulder, but makes it harder to put the strap at a length good for both shoulder, back, and waist carry. The opening to the rear sleeve is also much smaller, making it harder to stuff the pad in there for wait carry.
Finally, aesthetics. This point is obviously much more personal taste, but I liked the old ash better, it was a more neutral grey where the new ash has a bluish-green hue to it. It's also a bit plain by comparison, everything is grey. Before several details like the strap and zipper was black, a nice accent. I also find it curious how the carry handle lost the leather and move to the back, opposite of the everyday backpack, where the handle gained a leather strip and was moved from the back to the top.
Nothing but good things to say about this bag. Well thought out on the design, very easy to get all you need for a quick shoot. Their video is accurate in how much can be stored. The bag keeps its shape and form ( which is good for keeping your camera safe ). It is still a 10L so don't try to push the bag to its limits. You will find when you fit too much into the main apartment its harder to use the smaller pockets. Overall Love.
I've just gotten my PD Everyday Sling 3L a month ago ! After using it for amonth, all I can say that I really like the design and also the strap ! What I normally fit in : My wallet, a phone charger, an A7III with 25mm attached. I've tried fitting in A7III with 25mm attached and also a 85mm on the side as well, to my surprise, they fit and the zip closes properly as well ! I've been using this bag as my everyday light carry, with or without a camera in it. Tip : Store the extra hook straps into the space where the extra length of straps are being stuffed into. Suggestion : Would've preferred to have a pouch to fit an ipad in the back of the compartment, as I'm able to fit my iPad mini in nicely but sadly the divider won't stick in this case..
This is my first camera bag I have ever purchased. I was looking for something that would be comfortable, stylish and not too big but big enough to hold my stuff. I purchased this bag for everyday use not just for my camera. I really love the sleeves are removable/adjustable which makes it really easy for me to modify the bag for my daily use.! I checked out a bunch of reviews before selecting this bag and I love it. Highly recommend it!
