Aesthetic Backpack & Comfortable

I bought the Everyday Totepack a few weeks ago and recently decided to use it to comfortably store my laptop and other items (e.g. charger, headphones, water bottle). The bone color is aesthetic and the backpack does not look too big nor too small on me. All zippers are functional and the cross straps adds a nice touch to the front; I hope to utilize the straps soon. A con or two to point out is the narrowness of the inside when trying to widely open the top (due to less flexibility) to store items. However, it is also a pro because the backpack is firm and less vulnerable to damage. Furthermore, the Totepack does not have side pockets like Peak Design's other backpacks, which I think are essential for storing items such as a water bottle. Overall, the backpack looks aesthetic and fits comfortably, but lacks internal space to store wider items.

Stylish, not efficient

I think this bag would work well if I was a woman unencumbered by children while traveling. As it is, I purchased this as an airline carry-on bag that would carry both my and my 2-year-old's necessities - and serve me in the future when the kids can carry their own stuff. As well-built as it is, I think it has not been as thoughtfully designed as Peak's other options. The side pockets are tight to access. The very bottom of the interior is below the level of the side zippers, requiring the divider to be high enough up that your hand can dip into the lower part of the bag. Finally, the lack of water bottle pockets leaves me needing more interior space. I just couldn't carry all our stuff including 2 water bottles inside the bag. Comparing the 20L Totepack with my husband's 20L Backpack zip, I am surprised Peak classifies the Totepack as 20L; pictures attached. I decided to return this beautiful bag and go for the 15L Backpack Zip (mostly because it's the only size in Bone). The 15L Zip seems to hold as much as the 20L Totepack and offers more accessible openings and water bottle pockets to boot. I've come to learn that volume doesn't indicate actual capacity in many cases.

Wanted to love it

I really wanted to like this bag after a lot of research. Unfortunately it just doesn't work how I expected. The bag is much more rigid than the photos seem to show. I really liked the Peak electronics organizer which led me to this bag which was supposed to fit the organizer in a systematic way. In reality the organizer is tight to get in and out with a MacBook and two legal pads, and there's really not much room for anything else once it's in there. The bag does look incredibly good and feels well made, but it is not the everyday carry pack I had hoped it would be. The interior is more suited for flat things like laptops and tablets, but doesnt work well for larger headphones or anything oddly shaped. Instead I'm now using this more as a laptop/tech only bag, and carrying an additional bag of personal items (water, snack, etc).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worth every cent.

I was hesitant about spending big money on a camera bag but was surprised by my husband for my birthday. I have no regrets. I've had another brand my entire time in photography and I was always frustrated at how little of "extras" (tissues, drink bottle, snacks etc) I could fit for a shoot without compromising gear. Previous bags were also very masculine looking and I'm a very feminine dresser. The totepack has completely outdone itself for me. It looks great, is comfy when walking long distances in backpack mode, fits everything I need for a full day shooting and is so versatile storage wise. I'm now looking at a tech bag and toiletry bag as I love the storage design that PD have to offer.

Slick bag that I wish had a couple of improvements

As always, the materials and construction are a marvel. Go into it knowing that it's a quite tight 20 liters. I love the concept and the look of it, but have a few "wishes". I wish the top of the bag stayed open more easily - the magnetic closure ends up auto-snapping shut, and it gets frustrating having to reopen it (get laptop, snap, get tech pouch, snap, get water bottle...etc). I wish the quick access pocket was slightly larger, and had a divider that would allow me to separately my sunglasses from pens, etc. Also, when you put in the flexfold dividers anywhere near the top, it starts to cut into the quick access pocket space. Fixed straps are short. The straps are awesome, and at first I liked the elegant, clean look of the fixed strap mechanism. But in practical use, I wish I could quickly adjust them. They're also fairly short. With a winter coat on, I have them on the second-to-longest setting, and I'm only 5'8". Someone taller would probably find them too short.

Bagging Bragging

After tossing & turning - like a selection of sweet potato and pumpkin cut into serving sized pieces, tossed with some Cobram Estate Australian extra virgin oil & garlic, roasted for 30 mins, turning after 15 & sprinkled with dukkah - about choosing between the messenger bag and the totepack. I chose the latter and it has been as great as well roasted vegetables. The bag is described as vegan friendly & my vegan friends have been very friendly with me since getting the totepack I purchased the bone coloured one and it does seem to attract dirt like my suddenly growing list of vegan friends who are attracted to the smell of home made dukkah. The bone colour looks great, but if you can keep it clean then I'm unreliably informed that Peak Design will give you a red star*. And by red star I don't mean a five pointed adhesive - I'm talking about the actual red giants you can find down in the Delta Andromedae (*pick up only). If you're undecided with getting the totepack like I'm undecided on whether totepack should be one word or not then just get both bags and skip the tossing and turning.

MASSIVE Improvement Over The Peak Design Tote! I bought this bag so I wouldn't come to gigs with a backpack on like a 4th grader. Originally I bought to the Peak Design Tote V1 and it was amazing how quickly I got tired of that tote bag. The main problems it had were its strap and it had trouble staying close when it was filled up. This Totepack has great top handles to hold in your hand or forearm, regardless of the weight of the bag.
Two complaints I have is that the bag can have a weird wide shape depending how you load it and its external pocket is ...okay, well better than nothing.

It feels small for 20L. High quality materials, functional and highly customizable configurations. I wish it was a bit bigger and had another small pocket on exterior. A few MOL straps would be cool too for adding other pouches/water bottle holders. It's my everyday bag for sure.
