Looked and looked and looked for a 8" x 11" cooking surface grill with reversible plates and no one would manufacture one except for Cusinart. Unit would be 5 stars if it had two knobs - One for top and bottom grill heat and the second knob for temperature. Instead there is a confusing digital screen that no one understands and does not care to try and figure out after a long work day. Used it once so far. Need a top and bottom grill especially for making hash browns. Owners manual NOT available for download on Cusinart website.

I bought this griddler to replace an old one I had. The new one is definitely of a lesser quality. The plates on my old Cuisinart grill were substantially heavier. The new ones are very thin. I chose this model because of the smokeless feature. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to work that end of the controls. The instructions are useless. I wouldn’t buy this griddler again, nor can I recommend anyone else to buy it. I wish I didn’t get rid of my old one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works great. I love that the plates are removable and easy to wash, as is the tray. Five minutes, and everything is all cleaned up. I also love that I can lay it flat and use it as one big griddle. Suits all my needs.

While the controls take a bit to get used to, the grill works great! Versatile use and easy to clean. Small so easy to store. The grill plates release and click back into place, dishwasher safe (but a soapy sponge and a rinse are usually all that's needed). Love it! Note that some users may prefer the simpler 3 dial version.

It does not get hot enough to be a "grill." When we turn the temperature higher, it trips a circuit breaker.
