Bought this product 3 weeks ago and called for service because volume of tones for timer and other sounds are inaudible unless you are standing right next to the microwave with no other ambient sounds in the kitchen. Nothing wrong with my hearing. Repairman said this is normal. VERY DISSATISFIED!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You Cannot Turn the Sound Off

The specs say this model features Sound On / Off. It does not. You can turn the button sound off. You can turn the volume lower. But there is no escaping the long little song at the end of your cooking cycle, or the reminder beeps that follow. This may be seem trivial, but for those with dogs, babies, night workers or anyone who longs for a truly silent microwave -- this is not the one. Wish I'd have read a review like this before I made purchase. Reached out to customer service, who eventually admitted that indeed, there is nothing you can do about the song. No secret press and hold button 1 or 2 or 3. Nothing. They suggested I reach out to the retailer where I purchased the unit. When I called to register the product, they tried to hard sell me on an extended warranty. Not cool. It's a nice microwave. Aesthetically pleasing. But despite what the ad copy says, you cannot turn off the sound.

If your Microwave venting often fails to remove cooking odors, steam, and vapor effectively, please see the tips below for troubleshooting. Solutions & Troubleshooting: Address poor vent performance by checking filters and verifying the vent setup. 1. Filter Maintenance: Safety: Unplug the unit and ensure it's cool before servicing. Follow cleaning product instructions. Grease Filters: Metal mesh filters on the underside. Clean monthly (or when indicated) in the dishwasher or by hand with hot, soapy water. Charcoal (Odor) Filters: Only used for internal (recirculating) venting. They absorb odors. Cannot be cleaned; must be replaced every six months (or when indicated). 2. Performance Diagnostic: Test: Remove all filters, turn on the fan, and check airflow/odor removal. Scenario A (No improvement): Problem is likely external ductwork (if vented outside). Action: Contact a professional to clean the ducting and check the exterior wall cap/damper. Scenario B (Improvement): Filters are clogged. Action: Replace filters immediately. Do not run the microwave without filters due to fire hazard. 3. Venting Configuration Check: Determine Type: Turn the fan high. External: Little to airflow felt at the top front of the microwave. Internal/Recirculating: Strong airflow felt expelled from the top front (requires charcoal filter). External Components (If applicable): Check the exterior wall/roof cap. Ensure the damper flap opens fully and the screen is clear of debris. Problem with sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the previous model an I was happy. The new one is good except for the sound, as they all are high tone which I can not hear. Thought the tones did not work so a requested a service call. Technician said there is nothing wrong with them. If you can not hear the high tones do not buy it. I wish they Han. It changed this
