Good Microwave with Poor Installation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Could not fully test this microwave because Whirlpool’s installer for my location botched the installation, damaging our cabinetry and requiring a replacement unit. When it was in use, it did a good job of simple heating jobs. One feature that is slightly annoying is the inability to turn off the Finish Song that plays when the heating cycle completes. The Low setting is acceptable. But the microwave stays in the cooking cycle until you press the Stop/Cancel button twice.
Positives are the LED underneath lights and their three brightness levels, plus the fan’s three fan speeds. The unit we got was the black and stainless finish which matches our gas range.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit looks nice and fits in with our other kitchen appliances. However, the unit does not come with a detailed set of instructions on how to use it! I went online as well and could not locate an owner’s manual on use!! Very disappointing.

Quality Over The Range Microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this unit end of October. One of the few inexpensive white microwaves we could find. Functions are easy to understand. Takes a bit getting used to having to cancel operation every time the microwave is used.
We've turned on the sound alarm, adjusted volume up but it still isn't very loud.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There's an extra step that needs to be taken after the buzzer goes off. You have to the stop clear button to go back to the time display. That's unnecessary. One other important thought is that your buzzer is a very high pitched sound. When people lose their hearing as they get older, they lose it in the higher frequency first. You should consider changing it to a deeper sound.

Great Features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our new Whirlpool microwave was installed on October 30, 2024. We love it! The only thing I would change is the underside light. It's in the back and I would have preferred it in the front, but that's okay. It works great and heats food quickly. I like that it has the "1", "2", and "3" minute quick features in addition to the "30" second feature. It's very pretty, too, and looks great above our stove. Highly recommend!ghly recommend!

It works fine, but the preset function are useless

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A little background, we bought it because we like our Whirlpool Washer, Dryer and Refrigerator. So far, we absolutely hate this microwave, but due to the return policies of the big box store we are stuck with it. We bought it because of the preset features that have turned out to be a disaster. The only preset that seems to work properly are the potato and oatmeal. If you use dinner plate and some of the others, you end up with rubber. The absolute worst one is the beverage preset. I would like to know who programmed a cup of coffee or a cup of milk to cook for 90 seconds! Do you know what happens to an 8-ounce cup of coffee if you let it go for 90 seconds? I imagine it could cause some cheaper cups to break. Another thing, why do we have to hit cancel when the microwave is done cooking? We must hit cancel every single time something is done. This microwave is a total waste of money, don't buy it because you can't use the presets, and you must hit cancel every single time your food or drink is finished cooking. We paid extra for this because we wanted all the nice features. We should have just purchased a cheap one because we must do things the way you did on a 1980s microwave. It really stinks, because I cook ahead and freeze meals. When you buy an overhead microwave, you can’t exactly test it out for a few days before hanging it. We are stuck with it because of the stupid appliance return policies of the big box store we purchased it from. The only good thing I can say about it is that it looks nice.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Microwave for the Price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this microwave for a few weeks, and it has been great! I had replaced a 10 year old Whirlpool unit, and this current one is a bit quieter and more efficient than the last. The fan works well with the three speeds when I’m cooking only range top. The popcorn sensor is surprisingly accurate; not many kernels left in the bag. The fingerprint resistant finish looks great and is a noticeable improvement to me from the old unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!
