[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This replaced a 20-year old Whirlpool which we loved. This one is a bit tricky but overall fine. Still can't get the single button time/power to work! These have been separate on my microwaves in the past and on my current one in another house. I suggest this be changed! Also...do not like the black interior! Hard to see what's going on. Wish I had my old one back.

On Sale Whirlpool Microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Updated All our Kitchen Appliances for Christmas. We mix and match to get the best prices and features we wanted. (Ended up with Whirlpool microwave, Samsung Range and Refrig., Bosch Dishwasher) So we ended up with this Whirlpool Over the Range Microwave. It works and I'm okay with the purchase for the price. However, I do have 4 minor issues with it.
1) (And this is my biggest issue) One has to push the cancel button to get the time of day to display after use and after whatever you have heated up comes out.
2&3) the rotating plate is smaller (by 2 inches in diameter) than a lot of others out there AND there is no feature to turn off the plate rotation.
4) (Very minor) Express Start feature only for 1-3 minutes. Would prefer 1-6 minute Express Start.
I thought install instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. It's recommended to get a helping hand to help hold the microwave up when trying to do the final cabinet mounting.

Irritating end chime

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this to replace a 15 year old GE that finally gave up. The black and fingerprint-free stainless finish fit well with our other appliances, and given Whirlpool's reputation we really wanted to like this microwave. The plus: it does heat very well, probably better than the GE. The minuses: the controls are very hard to figure out, and the owner's manual leaves a lot to be desired. For example, to cook or reheat on a lower power setting, it took us a while to figure out you have to input the percentage you want (half power is 50, etc). Nowhere in the manual or on the microwave's label does it clearly tell you that. Even when you set it that way, it doesn't show the power setting on the display, so you have to hope you got it right. And we have yet to figure out how to use the timed defrost; supposedly you touch '3' for manual defrost setting, and then input the time you want, but it will not work no matter how we try. Finally, there is no way to turn the turntable off, so I guess you would have to take it out if you were putting something in that was too big to rotate. Very frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointed -- dont buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Disappointed --- I bought this 3 months ago to replace an old whirlphol. VERY UN USER friendly. You can't use the timer and use the 30 second buton at the same time. The inside light is so dim you can't see inside. Wish it want installed so it could go back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
