I've purchased previous HP products online and have always been pleased with their products. I purchased this new desktop to upgrade to windows 11. However, this time, I hooked everything up, turned it on, and thought I was up and running. I used it to pair with the new HP printer that I also purchased, and while everything was updating, I received a screen message that "Windows is corrupted." I tried rebooting and all the obvious start up tricks to no avail. I had to disconnect it and reconnect the old one. I'm not sure what to do with it at this point. I had already recycled all the packaging, and it was on the Holiday so reaching anyone by phone was impossible. My new HP Envy Is now unusable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the day I opened the desktop late December 2020 I have had a consistent problem with the computer freezing randomly in using various software on the computer. The mouse and the keyboard become unresponsive. The only recourse is a hard reboot to restart it. I have tried HP diagnostics and all software is up to date. I have tried two wireless mouse/keyboard combinations and a wired combination. Nothing helps. It has also froze in the sleep mode where I can't wake up the monitor or system. Very disappointing and frustrating.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] sadly cannot recommend this pc at all - the specs on it look great - but in fact it was slow & bogged down from day one... i expect better quality from hp and from a pc in this price range
I was happy with this computer until my second monitor arrived. At that point, I learned that the second HDMI port doesn't work. I tried all the things - updates, reinstall of drivers, etc. No luck.
At first the computer was fine, but now it is randomly freezing up.. Ctrl-Alt-Delete does not work and I have to do "hard" turn off with the power button. It restarts fine but will randomly freeze again.
Full installation of Microsoft Win11, complete with Google and tons of proprietary over engineered gimmicks. System has so much overhead and spyware it doesn't make users comfortable. Too many gotchas for the home end-user. System sitting in corner collecting dust. KISS!
Had an old HP Envy windows 8 and had it updated to windows 10. Computer was about 15 years old and used almost daily for my small business and home. Would have kept it if it wasn’t for the fact that my windows 10 could not be updated and started having problems with USB ports going out. So far the new Envy I purchased is doing very well. Hopefully windows 11 will be here for awhile. I have stuck with HP for many years and at my age will not switch.
