Works great although the battery life is not very good. It takes 8 hours to charge. I recommend buying an additional battery pack. That's what I did.

Battery Life Needs Serious Attention - Hardwire?

I get around 6 weeks and don't use the keypad to open the door. Had to buy a second battery because it takes so long to charge. There needs to be a hardwired option and ditch the battery (only as a backup like my garage door)

When I first saw this product, I couldn't wait to purchase it as I have previously installed a quieter belt driven garage door opener. I'm obsessed with new gadgets and although I didn't need this for my house, and the normal Chamberlain keypad was working fine, I still purchased this keypad camera. I've had it a little over a month, so can't speak to the fact that the keypad is exposed to the elements, and we are coming into an Alberta winter, so we will see!
I think it would have been better to have a cover over the keypad part, as it is intended to be close to an exposed garage. I have Ring cameras and an alarm system in and around my house, so the camera was more of a novelty and I will not be paying for any subscription, just using live view if I need too.
Where I think this keypad really falls down is the strength of the wifi! Whilst I can view the camera live view footage with a little delay, the actual keypad will not work properly, which defeats the object of having the item in the first place. It is connected, because when I take the keypad off, with a full battery, and bring it into the garage, the keypad works.
As stated, I have loads of other cameras at a further distance and they work properly. I even have one of my four mesh routers in the garage itself. I am not sure if anyone else has had this issue, and I am not bothered with trying to troubleshoot with Chamberlain, as this is not the end of the world for me. We always have our phones with us and I can open the garage door using that if I need too. Still, the wifi receptor inside the keypad could be better.

There are several ways to improve your Wi-Fi connection for your device, including moving your router closer to your device or purchasing a Wi-Fi extender. The myQ Video Keypad must be within 50 feet of your Wi-Fi router and is compatible to operate with Wi-Fi networks on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequencies. It's nice to have a backup battery charged and ready to replace the installed battery that is getting low on power. While the battery does take quite a long time to fully charge, it holds its charge long enough for my satisfaction. As the weather turns colder, the backup battery comes in very handy to swap out and have it ready immediately to use.

I love the myQ Video Keypad, but I was truly disappointed to learn that a fully charged battery lasts no more than a month or so. There is no reason under the sun why in 2023 (soon to be 2024) there is no solar charging that would allow for more sustainable battery life. Hopefully Chamberlain's engineers are on the case and can bring something like that to market relatively soon.
