This vacuum has saved me so much time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have noticed a lot of comments as of late talking about the vacuum not working properly on carpet. I hope those comments don't deter you from buying this vacuum. It is clear that this vacuum can be used on area rugs, NOT fixed house carpeting like for your living room or bedrooms. I have an area rug in front of my front door, and with 5 of us living in the house along with daily visits from my kids therapists, this vacuum works awesome! Also, again with having 3 kids, this vacuum is great for clean up after each meal. My kids are 1,2 and 4, so you can imagine the messes they can make. I even demoed it for a friend by pouring soda on my kitchen floor. In one swipe over the mess, it sucked it all up leaving no streaks. My suggestion is to really read to what the machine can do, be realistic (meaning there are just some things that you will have to clean a different way to get it up), and make sure to clean it after each use. Also, keep the bissell site bookmarked as you will of course need to replace items such as the roller brush and the filter.
Pros: Lightweight, Easy to use, powerful

I hate that I have about a one inch border along walls and cabinets that doesn't get clean because the machine doesn't reach. I have to break out my mop and clean along the edges.
Pros: Easy to use, Lightweight, Quick cleanup
Cons: High Traffic Areas, Tile Floors

Poor design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought a Bissell cross wave. We used it for about 5 months and brush stopped spinning, replaced brush but issue persisted. Started looking online and other users were having the same problem with bad bearing issues in the brush rotation mechanism. Seems like a poor design and no replacement parts to fix the issue. Only solution is to replace entire vacuum head piece. Product worked well when we first purchased it but doesn't justify about 5 months of product function.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great idea if it worked!

I love the idea of this vacuum and it was great for the first three months. Then the vacuum stoped working and all it does is push the dirt around and leave it in piles. When I use the mop feature, it just makes the piles wet and grosser to clean up. It also leaves puddles of cleaning solution on the floor. I do not recommend this product.

I bought my second crosswave, well 3rd if you count the one I returned after one week. My first Crosswave was the best performance until about a year having it began leaving dirty little puddles. It was frustrating so decided to buy a new one. Much to my surprise and disappointment the new one did the same thing. I immediately returned it. At that point I felt this product wasn't being manufactured to its best ability. 2 yrs later I needed another floor cleaner I have fairly big home and most is hard floors, tile and laminate. Shopping for another floor cleaner I came across the Crosswave cordless I liked the idea of not having a cord. I bought it and thought I would give a Bissell another try. The battery goes a long ways allows me to clean kitchen, family rooms, bathrooms, and even rugs and still have battery left. The downside, it does not remove most stuck on food, and some stains. The worse part is, it still tends to leave little dirty puddles. This happens if you accidentally heat furniture or a wall, and always when you shut it off. It leaves a dirty residue. This is a big flaw in my opinion, and one I did not have with my first crosswave Bissell not cordless, thought I'd mention that. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 5. It's an expensive cleaner and should perform better! I will continue to use it until it stops working and will not purchase anymore Bissell cleaners.

Bought this for my wife for Christmas and she loves it. Our house is mostly hard floors and when cleaning them it usually was a drawn out chore due to first sweeping every inch then wet mopping after. This cuts the job in half and lets us do both at the same time. Helps a lot when it comes to cleaning up after a rowdy toddler and multiple (evil) cats.

I have use this one tile, hard wood, low ply rugs, and even my shaggy rug. I have an elderly dog that has accident and a new dog in training. This thing has been a life saver. This is my first house with all hard floor (except our area rugs) and mopping the normal way never seemed to get things clean enough. You will be disgusted with the results but slight satisfied. One of the first product to register the warranty for due to how much I love this thing.
