Actually like the combined unit, except the 1 thing that is a major flaw, in my opinion, is that you cannot brew less than 6 cups of coffee.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

1 side quit working after 3 weeks

I received this item little bit before christmas and the one side already quit working. Called for a replacement and they said they r out of them and would send when they had them. Which makes it worse on us. We now have pretty much a coffee maker that doesn't work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
