Traveler is a lot like 2020

The traveler is a lot like 2020; it starts out great, but goes down hill rapidly. My travel bottle was delivered 11/22/2020. I love the color and it does what it's suppose to do. That gives it a solid 5. I loved the design, until I went to make my coffee on the 23rd and realized it wouldn't fit under my Keurig Classic. I have to make my coffee in another travel mug and then pour it into this cup. Probably not a big deal for most, but let's just say I am morningly challenged. This knocks it back to a 3 for me. Which brings us to today, 12/1. When my EMPTY Traveler fell from my purse onto a carpeted floor and the latching system broke... after less than 8 days of use, and on the first drop. That gets a 1 star rating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It does everything they say it does! It’s great! I just wish 3 (very little) things were different, here are some notes for Takeya:
1) Make future generations have an 18 ounce capacity.
I make my coffee with 2.6 tbsp of Grounds 8oz of water, 3 tbsp of creamer, 3 tsp of sugar, and I like to make 2 of them to make the brewing effort worth it (standard drip machine). It overflows if I try to put the lid on it by a matter of 1 oz. I have been cutting back on the water by 1 oz to make it work, but it throws the final result off in flavor a bit (first world problem, I know).

2) Bumper
Please make a bumper for the Traveler. Yes I could throw an 18 oz originals bumper on it but it does not fit properly as the bottom of the traveler is not as rounded. Even though the bottom has its own bumper, the side of the Traveler will still hit things and clank when I carry multiple things on one hand (like my 40oz T-originals with its own bumper).
Please make a bumper for the Traveler. Yes I could throw an 18 oz originals bumper on it but it does not fit properly as the bottom of the traveler is not as rounded. Even though the bottom has its own bumper, the side of the Traveler will still hit things and clank when I carry multiple things on one hand (like my 40oz T-originals with its own bumper).
3) Get rid of the ridge inside (below the receiving threads for the lid).
I have never been able to completely finish my drink (I have tried!) even though I shake it towards the end. When I wash it the next day there is still a sip in there that would’ve come in handy the day before.

We are so sorry you are having issues with your bottle. The duration of temperature in your liquid depends on how often the bottle is left open. The hot liquid should remain hot within 4-12 hours.

At first I was skeptical of the lid design but decided to give it a try. I’m so glad that I did! This is now a family favorite, greatly surpassing the design of Yeti tumblers that we had been using. This mug fits in all of our cars’ cup holders, can be carried easily when you don’t have any free hands, it really is leak proof, and it is actually enjoyable to sip or chug coffee from with a nicely designed lip/spout. I will be buying more!

I was a bit disappointed when I received my 17oz mug. I am as expecting a lid the a loop/ring to make it easy for my granddaughter to carry it. It did not have the loop/ring that would allow for easy carrying.
