Won't get fooled again - redesign the ring Takeya

We have four of these bottles - four of them. We love the quality of the bottle itself - it really does keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold and didn't leak. But as many others have commented - the lid sucks big time. All of our lids have broken. We bought a bunch of replacement lids and now they are broken too. As the saying goes - "fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me". Well I won't be fooled again. I am looking for a different product. As a note - Takeya if you are reading these negative reviews - your reputation is tanking because of this. We were loyal customers before our lids kept breaking. The design itself is to blame - partly the weakness of the plastic on the ring, yes, but also the fact that once the ring breaks (which it does far too easily) then the entire hinge holding the top part of the lid to the bottom part is compromised and it is then unusable. If you just made the ring so that it is not connected to the hinge that opens the lid - or remove the ring altogether - that would probably make the whole issue less of a problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love my arctic white traveler! Was looking for a travel cup to keep my coffee hot long enough until my lunch breaks. I make my coffee about 515am and I don’t take a break until 945 am. My coffee’s still hot! Perfect, just what I was looking for. Thanks Takeya for making great products.

I love these travelers I bought 2 of them the back and artic color.coffee stays hot for Quite a while I love the facts that it has easy carry loop handle easy to hold put a Carabiner clip to my bag or other places Carabiner places. I also like that you can lock it drop it in your bag and it wont spill and so happy that it fits underneath my new coffee maker I have other travelers but this one is by far the best travelers i will be Purchasing these again as gifts and when other colors roll out Takeya is the best

I love the design of this bottle. Very ergonomic. However, it does not hold temperature at all. I filled it full of ice water before bed. 5 hours later when I woke up the water was room temperature. I was very surprised the water wasn’t even cool. My other insulated bottles would have kept the ice all night. it does keep my coffee warm long enough for me to enjoy though.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this bottle because I wanted something that would keep my beverage hot and could still be opened and closed with one hand. Other brands I've tried always end up leaking eventually. The push-button flip top design seems less likely to have that problem. The lock switch is strong, but not so stiff you can't operate it with one finger. The carry ring sits flush until you need it. There is a tiny lip on the carry ring so you can easily flip it up with a one finger. There is a gap in that lip above the lock switch so you don't accidentally flip up the carry ring when you're just trying to unlock the flip top. The silicone coaster ring on the bottom has great grip: your bottle won't slide around.

My bottle has a slight leak: as I take a sip of coffee a small drip appears between the lid and bottle. I have to really crank the lid down tight to make it stop. Also, when I flip the lid open to drink the condensation on the underside of the lid flips out and I twice splattered it on my friend across from me. Kind of fun but not ideal. (Still love my bottle but wish it didn't leak.)

Love it! But could be improved

I was so excited about this bottle that I actually took it off my christmas list and bought it for myself. I adore the the regular Takeya bottles and was looking for a bottle for tea that wouldn't spill all over the place when I have my hands full getting in and out of the car. This seemed like the perfect solution. For me this fits the perfect amount of tea and it stays hot for hours. The only drawback.....it's not enough for me to return but really truly needs to be looked at is that when drinking you often hit your nose on the lid. It was really truly a terrible design flaw but everything else just works so well for me. I also appreciate that the handle can lay flat so it stays out of the way and honestly looks very stylish.
I'm happy, but I do hope improvements are made to the lid for future production.
