Works like a dream! I’ve made milkshakes, frozen cocktails, soup, smoothies and all have turned out great. Machine is user friendly and easy to clean. All of the settings make it easy to use. My only “complaint” is that the tamper feels really cheap. For spending so much money it would have been nice to have slightly better quality tamper.

My wife absolutely loves this blender. This replaced our old Ninja. It has truly increased our horizons on what a Mixer can be used for. We made soups, smoothies, emulsions and plan on making full use of it as a resource during canning season.

Very Tedious toUuse because Sleep / Screen Saver

I have bought two Propel 510 for family members last month, and we just love them. I really love Vitamix blenders. I cannot say the same of my X5. It is beautiful and a great blender.... when it does not get in the way of your workflow. And that real annoyance comes from the Sleep mode and the Screen Saver. They are way too short and even completely unnecessary in my opinion.
Let me explain. After 30 seconds, the blender sleeps and resets your selection (takes you back to variable speed 1 - why not just keep my selection and why so fast - if you forgot to add a leaf of mint for instance and need to go get it, you have to select your drink again - just why?), and after 1 minute it goes to screen saver where you have to press a button to wake it up (and wait for it to be ready again) - at least make it 15 minutes or so. Again completely useless functionaility - I just want my blender to be ready I need it too, like pretty much every other blender out there.
Does not seems like much you may think, unless you decide to do a margarita party for instance where you make back to back frozen drinks, or simply two or more smoothies in a row even. On the Propel 510, you have the dial in the right position and just have to hit Start once and it will blend right away like a champ. On the X5, you have to push "menu" to wake it up, wait some.... and then turn the dial to "frozen drinks" and then press start. Completely unecessary steps and gets old real quick. At least if the blender would wake up when you put the container back and at least remember where I was in my selection, that would releive some of the pain.
I really love my other Vitamix, but this one is a big miss in usability and again for choices that I personally do not understand - those extra steps do not help the user but just completely ruins the flow - it feels like a slow chore to use it. I unfortunately cannot recommend it and will be returning it for a Propel 750 maybe (even the X2 is plagued by that sleep mode so I was sad I could not get that one too)

After almost 50 years with my Vita-Mix Super 3600, it was time for a new one. I could not be happier with its replacement. The Ascent X5 is a wonder. The ability to use the automatic recipe programs as well as the self-cleaning feature are a delight. I have been amazed at its ability to turn out perfect results over and over again without even needing to monitor it, as it changes speed automatically. This machine is very highly recommended!

The most incredible blender I have ever used

Upon opening the box for this product. I immediately noticed that it was very well made. The plastic of the canister is double the thickness of my old blender. The lid has a rubber gasket to seal it to the canister and 2 clipping mechanisms to make sure the lid is secure. The motor base is very heavy. I assembled the tamper holder to the side of the blender and followed the quick start directions to make a smoothie using ingredients I already had on hand.
I pressed the menu button, and the first option on the digital display was the smoothie function. I pressed play, and a 45-second timer counted down as the motor went through 3 speed settings to blend my smoothie. I did have to use the tamper because I put my frozen fruit in as the 2nd ingredient instead of the last as the instructions stated, but it blended perfectly smoothly.
After serving up my smoothies, I half filled the canister with warm water and added a drop of dishwasher liquid, put on the lid, and selected the clean button from the front. In just 45 more seconds, the clean cycle was finished. I rinsed the canister and lid and reassembled it all together and enjoyed my smoothie. Total time from unboxing to smoothie and cleaned blender was 5 minutes.

Blends beautifully /easy to clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Highly recommend this blender! It came with a small recipe book to provide options to blend and a tool to push the food down towards the blades. I have been making smoothies and frappes with this and it has blended beautifully! It also has different options to select what type of food you are blending with different strength levels. The blender is plastic which surprised me because I thought it would be glass. However, I would prefer the hard plastic anyway. Also easy to clean and it has a nozzle to push while you're cleaning it with soap and water.
