I'm really happy with my disposal. It's powerful and at the same time quiter than any other disposal I have used. Super easy install. Low maintenance and dependable.

Great sturdy well made heavy duty unit. Can not comment on the install as I had my plumber do it for me. I have the same unit in two different houses. No problems ever. One brand new, the other 6 years old. I am careful about what I put into the insiinkerator. Not all family members are!

Ease of installation, by ?

As a DIY senior citizen installing under the sink has become a very difficult task. I have installed a number of disposals as a homeowner with no issues. This time I chose to hire an 18y/old college student who needed the $. He is a business/finance major with very high grades. Smart kid! It took us almost 4 hours to do the less than 1hr. job!!! Trying to teach a young, know it all, kid how to do a simple job put my patience to the maximum test! I had to get down twice, once to install the snap ring and again to put the disposal onto it's mount. He could NOT turn a screw the right direction if it was not directly in front of him! "Righty tighty lefty loosie". Put the screw to the side and that doesn't work visually. We got it done and all is well!
Pros: great quality, good instructions

We had an Insinkerator that was at least 20 years old that stopped working. They no longer make the same model, so I found this one. It fit perfectly on the old collar, so I didn't have to worry about changing that. It is super quiet, too. I like that it also has a 10-year warranty, though since the old one lasted twice that, I hope not to need to use it. I also like that the rubber part that fits inside the collar to keep things from falling into the drain and to keep the disposal contents from flying out is changeable; my old one was built into the disposal and was in bad condition. If this one gets bad, I can easily replace it.

Much Quieter than Badger Series

We replaced our contractor spec Badger disposer (which worked fine) with this model since we have an open floor plan and wished to reduce noise in the living spaces when we have company. It has made a big difference in the level of sound and reduction in grind times. I was concerned the increased size of the unit would take over the under sink cabinet space, but it really is not that much larger (larger in diameter than depth mainly). The design incorporates a water seal in the drain baffle which is effective in reducing noise but means you have to manually push even the smallest debris through the baffle and into the grind chamber. This can be a nuisance if you do not have a free hand or have a lot to push down. Less expensive models generally have a larger central opening that you can flush debris through simply with the flow of water from the faucet. That is my only criticism with this model.
Pros: quiet, fast
Cons: have to manually push debris down the drain

Only one I'll own

Quiet, powerful and an easy install. It fits in a relatively small space. I like the new power cord system with a plug in power cord. It should however come standard, and not be an additional piece that ends up nickel and diming the consumer. The rubber collar is pretty quiet but they do wear out in time and allow the disposal to make more noise than it should.
Pros: quiet
Cons: price
