Very quiet and effective but sink gasket needs improvement

This disposal is well made. It runs very quietly and effectively. My only complaint is that the black gasket that is installed at the sink drain does not drain well. If there is a decent amount of water in the sink, the gasket needs to be manually pushed to break a suction that prevents the water from flowing into the drain.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi dchicago, thank you for sharing with us. The issue you’re experiencing is most likely related to how the baffle functions in reducing the noise of the disposer. It is designed so that water will pool on top of it, like putting a cap on the disposer. With the cone-shaped side facing down into the sink hole, simply press against the side of the rubber baffle with your hand or a wooden spoon to enlarge the opening for food and water to go down. There is no other choice!

I am not a plumber, just your everyday guy who values his hard earned cash and wants to make sure it goes as far as possible.
Do not be tempted by cheaper brands, they are not worth the "savings" or aggravation. The unit I just installed was due to moving to a new house. I missed my insinkerator that I installed in 2001! in my old house - 22 years of 100% trouble free usage.
I opted for the 1 HP Evolution, not the cheapest model, but I know it is likely going to outlast me at this point, no regrets. Simple to install, runs whisper quiet, and is always hungry to eat whatever I throw at it.
10/10, 5 stars PLUS!
Pros: super quiet, simple to install
Cons: none come to mind

Heavy Duty & Quite

Very solid unit, should last a lifetime. Almost too quiet & vibration free. New rubber splash guard is a bit too tight a seal, items wind up in a pool until you push them down. Once it starts eating, it will self feed.
Pros: easy to install
Cons: expensive
I would recommend this to a friend!

Quiet and easy install

I purchased this new InSinkerator disposal to replace the original disposal when I built the house. That unit lasted 27 years! the new disposal was easy to intall and very quiet running.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Product is very loud

This is my third Insinkerator. My other two were amazingly quiet which led me to replace my 10 yr old model with a new one. I am extremely disappointed at how loud this new top of the line model is. If it didn't cost so much to have one installed, I would look for another brand.
Cons: very loud
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Really is Quiet

Nothing bad to say. It is a garbage disposal so there is only so much good you can say. It is as quiet as they build it up to be.
If you have a septic system, that is probably the best reason. Based on this one and my previous one, I would only get this
Brand. The one just below this is probably very satisfactory.

To the contrary, it doesn't "do" as much as our previous ISE.
