This was the 4th or 5th Insinkerator I have owned and installed. What I want to say is the support people were great. The disposal was dead on arrival, which is a first for me, my last one worked every day for 30 years. Anyway, the company jumped all over it and sent me a new one in 5 days. And they sent me a free return label. New one is in and working great.

This replaced an older and less powerful model: no problem with the old one; just renovating the kitchen and it was 20 plus years old: new unit is quieter and chews up everything put to it.

I don't like it at all.

Don't waste your time. I bought the Top of the line 1HP advanced. It is noisy and I just now tried out, it was installed today October 13th 2025. I put a squash down this unit and after 20 seconds I looked to see how it worked the squash was still there in the center. I don't like this unit at all. Even though you will read on the box it is quite it is far from quite. The older units were great. I wish my old one did not give out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Although InSinkErator motors are particularly quiet, the noise of a disposer can sometimes be affected by the material of the sink, how well the sink is secured, what is being ground in the disposer, etc.
This model features 4-stage MultiGrind® Technology, which focuses on fineness of grind over speed. Because it grinds food waste into much smaller particles, it may take a bit longer to grind certain items compared to other disposers. Try running the disposer with a moderate flow of cold water for a longer amount of time.
