On the third unit

I've had three one horse power Insinkerators over a number of years in my condominium apartment. They are easy to install and work well. However, their life span in not great. The second one I had lasted a year before froze up. The one prior to that got very noisy. So this is my third Insinkerator. I've kept with them as the installation is easy. Maybe the third time is a charm. I would like to send both of my old units back to the factory to get a read on what's going on.
I do like the new power connection system.
Pros: works well, easy to install
Cons: reliabiulity

Very quiet

This new disposal is very quiet and powerful. I cook a lot and as a result my disposal gets a lot of use. Th more the disposal can grind, the less I have to put in my trash, so my kitchen smells nice and clean. Truly a wonderful convenience!
This is my second Insinkerator. The previous model lasted a long time.
My plumber installed it and all went smoothly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Powerful yet quiet

So far, So good. My previous insinkerator lasted for many years and this is similarly constructed. It was easy to install and it is very quiet. Default power connection is not for everyone. The plug option was an extra cost as was the need to install a switch as the new ones don’t seem to allow you to turn them on with magnetic covers anymore. More dollars and more work, but when all was said and done I am satisfied.
Pros: ease of installation, quiet
Cons: power cord not included, remote switch required and not included

I would have given a higher rating except that the garbage disposal was difficult for a plumber to install and was noisier than I expected.

Very Easy to Install

Very good quality of unit. My replacement went very easy, purchase the cord kit when you purchase the unit. I went up from a 3/4HP to a 1HP unit. Very quiet while running. I replaced an old InSinkErator unit - everything matched up perfect to new unit so no change in outlet plumbing or attachment ring - Made the installer quick.

I replaced a Badger 5 and there was no doubt that I was going to replace it with the 1 hp model.
Note: the Badger 5 was already in my recent house purchase, that's why once it started to make some noises I did the replacement.
You get what you pay for and I'm very happy.
