Control panel design issue

Door release broken and pathetic service

We got this whirlpool microwave that came in with our new construction home. The microwave’s door doesn’t open even though we press the door release button firmly. There is no other way to open it.
I’ve tried to setup a service appointment online and the page errored saying I need to call. I called the service number and was kept on hold for an hour before a rep picked up. The rep took my address, model and serial number without giving me a case number and put me on hold for another hour and ultimately disconnecting the call.

The service is pathetic and the microwave is unusable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this microwave because it is big and easy to use with timers that make sense. It also heats my food fast. Also you can disable the child lock feature.
