The router works well, it allows me to separate devices onto the 5G network, avoiding the cluttered 2.4G network. A great improvement over the service provider router that I gladly returned.

Replaced an older RT AC66 unit with this. The replacement process was seamless. I bought 2 of the AX5400s to set up an AIMESH system, and re-used the AC66 as one of the nodes. Smooth as silk. My only complaint is that the Router UI sometimes confuses the connection type of the clients. This is a minor beef.

Certain cameras will not stay online. My 8 year old Netgear Router had no problem with this.

Dear Leeon,
Thank you for your comment.
We do understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing connection problems with some of your cameras. If certain cameras are legacy devices, these may not work properly with WIFI-6, please check updates for these devices. Also, try connecting this manually to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Furthermore, we recommend updating the Mesh router firmware if it is running with an older version. Firmware is available for download at: https://www.asus.com/us/networking-iot-servers/wifi-routers/asus-wifi-routers/rt-ax5400/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=RT-AX5400. Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent from the link: https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/1135/.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

I replaced two five-year-old AC1900s. The AX5400 has good throughput. There is an issue with devices that go from "suspend" to "resume" - longer time to connect...I would say 5-10 seconds as opposed to 1-5 seconds. Otherwise, no issues to report.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Setup was not so easy using the app. The app kept getting stuck at the same place. It was a breeze to set up when i plugged the laptop into the router and set it up. Then signed into the app after set up. Works great
