Bought this unit after issues with a BT8 and a Netgear Orbi system. Initial setup was ok, though I had to use the web gui as the phone app did not work. Everything worked as expected, with strong signals and devices and node connecting well, until the firmware updated. After this, I had a lot of issues with the node not staying connected and with devices connecting to 2.4Ghz when 5Ghz would have been better. I was able to modify the band steering settings and get everything functioning as expected, and it has worked fine since.

Setup was a bit tricky, but once I got things up and running, everything was great. Coverage is much improved in our home, and strong signal. Love the ability to run advanced configurations on the router.

It has been my observation that when ASUS labels a product Pro the firmware provides the user much more granular control for example, full VLAN control. The ZenWiFiXT9 does not provide VLAN control. Disappointed, I should have done more research. That said, it is performing well, and it is possible to segment a WiFi network using Guest SSIDs. However, LAN ports, cannot be assigned to segments.
