I just upgraded to the XT9 from the Eero devices and it is like going from riding a bicycle to driving a sports car, the features, tools and capabilities are extensive.
The setup is pain free and simple, similar to most wifi mesh systems you would buy today. After the initial setup is where you get the ability to fine tune your network. Asus has an excellent Web app called Asusrouter, that has an extensive set of features and parameters that you can use to customize your network to your specific requirements.
I am currently running a Public IP network connected to my provider and it was very easy and straight-forward to set up after getting the Public P addresses. I worked with my provider to get their side set up and then configured my end. Works really well and the speed is exactly what I am paying for, the XT9 does NOT limit the speed or features of my service at all.
The coverage that Asus promises is also realistic. I have the 2-device package that covers 5700 sq ft and it really provides that wide coverage. I have the node setup in my garage and the main router in my office and all 42 of my devices are connected with excellent signal strength on each device. It is nice to be able to connect everything and not worry about where in the house, yard or garage we go, we have excellent coverage.
In summary, what I like most about the ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 AX7800, is the Web App that gives you the ability to customize your network to your specifications and the fact that it provides real time monitoring of the devices and has extensive logs. I am also very happy with the wide coverage area it provides and the strength of the signal. I had a lot of problems with signal strength before installing the Asus, and that is now resolved.
I recommend this product.

This is not the system you want. Connection is flaky. Support is the worst, 3 calls to this center and was disconnected twice, and they had no idea how to handle the problem except "Let's reset."

Dear Mvrs,
Thank you for your comment.
We do understand the inconvenience this may have caused if you had difficulty looking for a replacement USB-C cable. The cable is an industry standard part so any third-party USB-C cable will work with the charger. The ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 Mesh WiFiSystem has been an amazing experience for me.
A little context; I replaced my Netgear R9000 router and Ext 8000 wifi extender with an Orbi first before trying ASUS. The Orbi was not able to handle the square footage and multi device ring system. I sent that back and purchased the ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 Mesh WiFiSystem (2Pack) after watching a lot of youtube videos and researching Best Wifi mesh systems 2023.
The ASUS in my opinion is the Best Wifi Mesh System I have ever had. Signal strength, Square footage coverage and ease of use once you start reading up on what it can do and what some of the menu items are.
A Key Point: Placement of the 2nd Router in (Repeater Mode) is important. I moved mine a few times, tested for the best range, coverage and Backhaul Connection to the Primary Router. You can tell once you open the App and select the second router, It will tell you.
My Setup: The main Router is setup in (Router Mode) and the other is in ( Repeater Mode) ISP: Cox Cable
Using the App to setup this system does not work out of the BOX without any tweaking on your part, if your ISP is Cox Cable in the US.
You run through a failed setup and then connect to the main Router via a Laptop/Desktop connected to one of the network ports on the back.
Unless you changed this: IP to connect by default: 192.168.50.1
Assuming you remember your username and pass that you created during the failed app process. Navigate to the tab labeled WAN - Internet Connection and change DHCP query frequency to Normal Mode. Set the Host Name 2 lines above to something, mine is ZenWIFI save and reboot your router and your Cable Modem. That should be all your need to get an IP_Address from your ISP.
Make sure to go back and change this: Enable UPnP: No
Other setting to change as well: Tab Firewall: Enable Firewall: Yes Enable DoS protection: Yes
Enable the AiProtection from Trend Micro.
Why do this Part? This will build some confidence in your Router knowing you are not leaving anything open for someone to exploit right off the bat of setting up your new router.
Once you have saved, rebooted and everything appears to be working as intended, now test the router's firewall from the outside. Go to URL -> https://www.grc.com/intro.htm select ShieldsUp and run through the All Ports test. You are checking to see if your router reports any open ports. Also, Check for UPnP acknowledgement if any as you should not have any if you set it to No.
Would I buy this again or recommend it to a friend? 100% -> YES
Purchased: 8/22/2023 I just purchased a single ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 to go with the 2(pack), I needed a little more coverage for a dead zone in my house. They all connect together with ease. I'm so happy with my ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 Mesh WiFiSystem. Thank you ASUS

We recently replaced our old router with this Asus duo. They are awesome. They reach all over our home and out into the yard. The routers were super easy to set up and placement was simple. I would highly recommend this router duo.

I’m almost 70 years old and this router is absolutely the best! I read tons of reviews…I live at the beach where electronics are known to be unstable…but this unit is the exception…Easy to set up…excellent coverage…no dropping…smooth device management..easy to use software…I can track problems with my internet provider and am much more aware of what’s going on with my network! I look at the performance indicators in the software at least once a day….I've learned so much!! Highly recommend this product!

Works as designed. I may have been able to get away with just 1 unit for my house due to the strong signal. Have not lost connectivity with the house for 2+ weeks. Had another brand prior and it was a daily occurrence.

Dear Jerry Vo,
We do understand your disappointment with the router and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing weak signal strength.
Typically, the coverage of this ZenWIFI is up to 5700 sq. ft. To resolve a weak WIFI signal, place it in a central location within your home, away from walls and obstructions, keep it elevated off the floor and away from electronic devices that may cause interference. Furthermore, please verify the router’s settings matches with your ISP’s modem credentials, are within 30 feet to the ISP's modem, if not wired with a network cable, and ISP's internet service or connection is working properly or stable.
Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help.
