I am very satisfied with the performance of the ASUS ZenWiFi XT9 router. It has good range and coverage and was quite easy to set up. So far I have no complaints. My sons told me how much they liked their ASUS WiFi routers so when I needed to upgrade my home system ASUS was my first pick.

I needed coverage on the areas in our house that had minimal coverage. I got these to help cover those areas. The setup was super easy, and within mins they were connected and I had coverage where I needed it.

I do not regret purchasing the XT9 Mesh series as it was a huge step up from my previous Orbi mesh network where I had to pay extra for parental controls. No more of that! So far the speeds are much better, and the ASUS app works really well! Great product!

Easy set up - excellent signal. As with any new tech item, there’s a bit of a learning curve but after the first set up it’s very understandable and easy to reset and redo set up if need be. This happened to me once when for some reason, the node in our system stopped working. (Thus four and not five star rating) I simply reset to factory settings (bottom of unit - tiny rubber reset) and followed process again. With a nesting system, it does not matter which unit you choose for the router/node. They both have the same number of LAN/WAN connections.

I purchased two of these to go along with the two ET 12s that I had previously purchased a few months ago. My house is 1766 ft.² and I figured that having four mesh units would be overkill. After installing these two I realize that the connection could be better. It’s close to the ET 12 but not in the same room. My second ET 12 is further away than these are but it has a solid connection. I’m not sure why but everything is working. It just seems that I shouldn’t be getting a message that the connection could be better.

This is a robust wife system. I use a main router and node connected via backhaul. I rarely have to do anything to maintain the system. BUT twice I have run into situations that required me to reset(wipe out my setup) the router. This means that I not only have to set the network up again, but that means a laborious process of setting up all of my smart home devices again as if new. The latest came after a firmware update “broke” the stability of the network. I spent 4 hours setting my home back up again. There is no way to fix the system if an update breaks something. It’s start over.

Dear Acousticmac,
Thank you for your comment.
We do understand the inconvenience this may have caused if you started experiencing network configuration issues after a firmware update. Typically, after a firmware update, changes may occur on the router and resetting the network configuration is required, ensuring the router's security credentails matches with your ISP's modem/gateway settings.
