Night Owl DVR are super great DVR reasonable price long lasting,for a 1080P DVR the recording are clear pictures on the Play Back ,the Police got a Mugshot of the one that broke in my Truck and was able to Identify that Low Live individual , by day end I got my tools back ,,,I do recommend this DVR and all other Night Owl Poduct this is my 3rd DVR from Night Owl , with this 16 Channel 1080p Bluetooth DVR I will be able to had 4 more Wi-Fi Cameras to the system . Not only this is a Great DVR but cannot forget Customer Service that always got my back on issue that I could not resolved ,,,also I got what I paid for great quality DVR and Cameras

Terrible system

I originally purchased a 1080 system and had many issues hiring out the problems. Decided to go with the 4K Wireless. Terrible decision. Cameras communication is terrible. DVR software for playback is difficult and poorly designed. Speaking with technicians, most do not have any technical background except what's written in their predetermined script. I would not buy their system.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Missing basic features from older systems

Recently purchased one of these new 4K systems. I had a 5 year old 1080P system and thought I would upgrade. Will return as basic features that did exist no longer do. Expected it to be better quality video and add and enhance features from the older application. Not the case. Although the video recording quality seems good, the system is now missing basic features such as being able to record audio. My old system had 2 audio recording channels connected directly to audio cameras. I had an audio camera in the front and rear of my home. New system has no audio recording or playback although sales description have wireless cameras states recording of audio. does not make sense. System only seems to be able to Export video based on "Events". Old system I could set a start and end time for exporting. Sometimes small movements are not part of an Event and the recording of sound would also not be an event but you may want to export with the sound just for timeframe of sound. Have given videos to the police multiple times. Cannot give up that feature. Only reason for "Continuous" recording a channel would be to be able to export a range of time and for sound. Strange that an "Upgrade" would result in less basic features than previous very old systems. Not sure who designs these and decides what features. Time to go elsewhere

We have owned the night our security system for several years, we are on our third system. The last system that finally wore out this week we purchased in 2017 and utilized The night owl HD app. I utilize an old tablet as a monitor in my work area so that I can see when I have deliveries. The tablet is mounted and displayed my four primary cameras throughout the day uninterrupted. It is too far from the system itself to use a cable to have the normal monitoring. This app is absolutely useless for a constant monitoring. It shuts down right at the most inapt time and then takes forever going through all the steps to get it back up and running again. Basically this app is made my system useless for my every day use and is making me reconsider night owls system.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have this equipment for 3 weeks now and there are some features to improve: definitely the App; besides not so user friendly it doesn’t respond fast enough when want to have access for a quick view or to check a sensor alert. Also I have to close it totally very often to make it respond and load the cameras. The other not so good features are the cameras speakers and the siren. Those aren’t good quality and hard to understand the prerecorded message or when having a conversation by the two way audio cameras. On the other hand, the good things it has are the good quality video of the cameras and the no need to have a tv or monitor connected to set up the system.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not so good...the cables! It was not difficult to install. My husband and I installed all the cameras by our self, but all those cables where a hassle. The hard work pays off!

WOW! Awesome buy! I had the installer put all 8 cameras inside and outside around my house. I love the feature on the app where you can shut off the spotlights because I really didn't want the lights in my house but absolutely wanted them on all outdoor cameras!
The lights are super bright which I love so it's like a deterrent for anyone who comes on my property!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing 4K security system

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I totally am in love with this night owl 4K security system. I got tired of relying on my internet connection to be able to save and stream my properties video feed. This is all on a 1TB hard drive and honestly it’s a very easy setup. Everything is wired. Each camera comes with ample length to run a connection to different areas of your house or property. So far the Apple app it pretty good. I have very fast internet so my stream is perfect remotely. I love the clarity and the spot light motion sensor. It makes getting a clear shot at night easy. So far I am loving this system and might upgrade for other cameras.
