Almost Great!

Installed the Defender XT, dissapointed no tempered glass protection for the cover screen and, the hinge protection sit so high allowing dust etc. However, except for theClose lack of cover screen protection (I just ordered) and high hinge and cost, I like it!

I'm sure this case is strong. However, for me, taking the risk with a more delicate case is worth more. The first thing I noticed was that the case makes it hard for me to open and close my phone. This defeats a lot of my ability to use my phone single handedly. The original design shown on the website a month ago also didn't show the hinge piece gapping with the main piece when folded. This leaves a space for dirt to collect. It's bulky and not a super comfortable texture which I kind of expected, but for smaller hands it's so bulky that I couldn't keep hold of my phone. Also, if your nails go much past your skin, you'll probably have difficulty getting your finger to the sensor. However, I think the biggest problem for me is the profile when opened. My case was sharp, like holding a piece of glass. so when i shifted my fingers or set the base of my phone on my ring finger, I got scratches like papercuts. Yes, I could probably file down the edges but I shouldn't have to. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who likes to keep their nails medium/long or anyone with sensory issues to things like five-star journal plastic. I don't think all the cases cut your fingers but I'd also be aware of that possibility.

Hinge issue

Great case. Only one I've found that lays flat with a hinge protector. Unfortunately the hinge (bottom left peg) on the case cracked and broke from just opening and closing. 😕 Also unfortunate I was too trusting (thinking it would last the life of the phone) and modified the case by painting the back square and also I cut a larger usb-c hole (so my mag charger would fit.) So I ruined that warranty, BUT at least someone else will be well informed and otterbox may make improvements based off this info. Great design overall.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not what I expected

I dropped my flip 5 using this defender case and now my speaker doesn't work. I have always trust outerbox and has failed me once again. I purchase them due to there warranty but at this point my phone is costing me more to fix every time
