Ice, Ice Baby! 🧊

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Where to begin!? Initially, I was supposed to receive the GE Profile Opal 2.0 Nugget Ice Maker, which is an older model. However, I was fortunate enough to be gifted the new and improved model, the Opal 2.0 ULTRA, which was just released this year, courtesy of Influenster! Therefore, I am absolutely grateful because I have wanted an ice maker like this for quite some time.
My first impression: this machine is beautiful. The stainless steel exterior is definitely eye-catching. The setup was initially a bit difficult for me as I prefer watching videos to install most things, but I managed to figure it out. I found that you don't actually need to use the side tank if you don't require a large amount of ice.
The machine itself is not too loud, which is certainly a plus. At first, I felt that the machine was taking a bit long to make ice, but I soon learned that it makes 1.6 lbs of ice every hour and 38 lbs every day. The speed is actually pretty good for normal use. The ice is really nice, perfectly chewable, and amazing for iced coffee, cocktails, soft drinks—you name it!
I love the fact that the machine is Wi-Fi compatible. You can use the Smart HQ mobile application to schedule when you want the machine to make ice, and the application also informs you about things like when you need to change the water filter, whether the machine is on, when the light is on, etc.
All in all, the GE Profile Opal 2.0 ULTRA Nugget Ice Maker is phenomenal. I would highly recommend this investment to anyone looking to buy an ice maker!

My family LOVES IT

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family and I absolutely love this thing. I don’t like chewing on ice but my husband and kids do, and they love the ice this makes. It’s very quick, only a couple hours to fill completely. My husband has been sick and he’s been filling up his cup with ice over and over again and we still haven’t run out. It’s also convenient to fill the water tank, I really like that feature. My only complaints are that it’s pretty high maintenance. It needs to be sanitized at least once a week and descaled every few weeks. It’s not hard to do but it takes a little time which I don’t have much to spare. But on the other hand, I do like that it’s clean so the ice always tastes good. Makes me question the ice coming out of the refrigerator since I don’t even know HOW I would clean those lines. So it’s a blessing and a curse. The other complaint is that *to me* it’s kind of loud while it’s making ice. I’m really sensitive to noise though and easily overstimulated. It doesn’t bother my family at all. You can always have it only make ice at night or while you’re at work and avoid that problem altogether. All in all, I’m suuuuuuuuper happy with this little appliance.

Amazing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely in love with my GE nugget ice maker! The sleek design and opal (white) color make it look so beautiful on my countertop. The setup was very simple and the ice maker is very easy and self explanatory to operate. It makes ice relatively fast and the nugget ice cubes are small and chewy, they’re absolutely perfect to use with all the drinks we make! The water tank is on the side and is relatively big, so the water doesn’t need constant refilling. To say I am obsessed is an understatement, we will be utilizing this ice makers daily, forget the ice from the fridge!

Overall fantastic ice maker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the GE Opal 2.0! It’s has a really sleek design and looks great on the counter top. The bin is the perfect size and I’ve loved the crunchiness of the opal ice.
I live in a hard water zone so I’ve been using distilled water to prevent build up- the care and maintenance is definitely a commitment, but really simple and overall quick, easy, and so worth it!
The appliance is also not quiet all the time, so you may need to be mindful of where you place it.
I do wish it was able to hold more water (it’s filled underneath the bin), so the side tank may be worth the investment depending on how much ice you go through.
Overall I’m so happy with this appliance and would absolutely recommend to other crunchy ice lovers!

This Amazing Machine is So Worth It!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The GE Profile Opal 2.0 Ultra ice maker is a truly amazing machine. Now I have the "good" ice right at home! The most delicious, perfectly crunchy, ultra cold ice in around 30 minutes. Set up was pretty easy, it took about 15 minutes to go through cleaning cycles and then ice started forming within 10 minutes. There is some noise, but I dont feel it is too loud. Its great for having guests over as the machine will continue making ice until the Add Water light comes on, but this takes awhile if u fill the extra water tank. What's amazing is that the Opal can be controlled through an app. Imagine arriving home from a long, hot day to yummy ice already made! My whole family is really enjoying testing out the Opal 2.0. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a ultra cold drink or chewing ice. Just make sure to keep it clean, which is a easy process.
