Great Ice Maker bit lots of parts

This model is quite a bit better than the older model as it offers the metal scooper with holder. There is the addition of an air filter as well as a seperate replaceable internal filter which I’m assuming will help with the longevity of the unit. I love the appliance but not looking forward to locating the replacement filters.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very loud!

I purchased this ice maker and received it 5/22/26. I has worked fine with perfect ice! Problem on day 2. It is so loud! Something is wrong on the inside. When researching issues it says buildup, tube blockage and hard water. That cannot be the reason since its brand new. I did the initial cleaning as the book stated, turned on and it started working fine. But after 2 days there is no way it could be build up. At first the noise lasted about a minute, now as I write this we are going on 10 min of noise, and its not just a little inconvenience, I will have to shut the machine off so we can sleep tonight.

Please check to be sure you have provided a minimum of 4" of air clearance on the sides and the back of your Opal. Also, check to be sure the vents on the unit are not blocked. Doing so ensures the Opal has the air circulation it needs to self-defrost. If this issue continues, we recommend checking with the retailer from whom you purchased the unit to determine their exchange policy. If needed, please contact Opal Support at 1-866-907-6718 for further assistance.

Awful Started screaming after installed in two day

We recommend ensuring you have a minimum of 4" of air clearance on all sides and back for your Opal. Also make sure the vent openings on the side are not blocked in any way. We recommend using distilled water in your Opal to help reduce the potential for mineral build-up. It is recommended you follow the instructions the Owners Manual for descaling and sanitizing. Not as good as the older model

This machine makes more slush than ice. It also starts at random times making an excruciating loud noise for a long time. We have to unplug it in order for it to stop. Definitely returning it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best possible ice you can have at home.

We waited a long time for this ice maker to come through development and into production and it was well worth the wait. The quality of the ice made with this product is absolutely outstanding. This is the second unit we’ve owned as our original one died after 4 years of continuous service. We now can’t live without one and our whole family thoroughly enjoys it daily.
