Features are great and we like the ice.

My ice maker started out great. We loved it and so did our family and friends . I say “loved” because after just 2 months it no longer works. It just displays “Add Water” . We have followed the only suggestion I found on line suggesting ther might be air in the lines. I have drained the machine at least five times now and also “unplugged it for three to four hours” as suggested to allow the machine to “reset”. None of these attempts worked. I am really disappointed since I was looking forward to enjoying this type of ice for much longer than two months. And of course, It is now past the return date. Is my machine a lemon? We have had 3 of these machine and the all have broken in with in 2-6 months of having it. I have always been a faithful GE products fan. Not anymore.

Stopped working after a month

Does not turn itself back on to produce more ice

This is the 2nd replacement unit on the icemaker. I do not know what the issue is that GE can not get these units to work correctly. This particular unit will not make nugget ice, it is more of a slush type ice and the unit will not start producing more ice until the ice bin is almost fully melted. The bright side is that at least this unit does not sound like a horror movie happening in my kitchen.

Loud bangs

My son bought this for me for a Christmas present. Thinking since it was GE and that it was expensive that it would be a good reliable product. After 1 year it got really loud and looked it up and the compressor has to be thawed out. I have to do this weekly along with cleaning. Now after a year and a half it now just hums with no ice. This is a piece of junk and definitely not worth the money.

Won’t last

Machine broke around two years ago monthly maintenance/cleaning was done. Still did not last. No help from the company. Huge expense with no fix or service.

Good but could be great

While this product works we have had a leaking issue with the side res the entire time 3 times I have contacted support for a replacement but it just goes into a black hole.
