Only worked for one month!

Same issue as John! But ours only worked for about a month. Husband did all the things recommended and worked harder than anyone should have to work on a brand new expensive ice maker. Just keeps saying add water.

Very disappointed! Only worked for two months!

My ice maker started out great. We loved it and so did our family and friends . I say “loved” because after just 2 months it no longer works. It just displays “Add Water” . We have followed the only suggestion I found on line suggesting ther might be air in the lines. I have drained the machine at least five times now and also “unplugged it for three to four hours” as suggested to allow the machine to “reset”. None of these attempts worked. I am really disappointed since I was looking forward to enjoying this type of ice for much longer than two months. And of course, It is now past the return date. Is my machine a lemon? I have always been a faithful GE products fan. Not anymore.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Machine must be level 2 avoid ‘needs water’ error

We love this machine. We’ve had it for more than 6 months with no issues. Cleaned it when the message popped up and easy to fill both the main and backup tanks. The only thing I wanted to change was move it to the back part of the kitchen since it’s noticeable when it’s making ice (as in louder than our fridge or dishwasher). I put it through the clean cycle and moved it to its new spot, filled it up with water and completed all the normal steps. It kept cycling and saying it needed more water. We went through all of the other suggestions and finally realized that our house is old and not level. I had already leveled out the racking as much as possible and in a good enough level with anchors to the wall, but ultimately this machine is sensitive. We fixed the error by placing a shim under the machine and it now sits a touch higher in the front but it works! The error of ‘needs water’ went away and it’s up to half way full with no further issues. 😊 Saw other folks experiencing the ‘needs water’ message and thought we’d share here with the hope it helps others to.

Slow at first, now a must have!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this! It is easy to clean and very durable. It is larger than I thought, but it has a sleek design that looks good on the counter. It’s relatively quiet and produces great quality ice (I use spring water in gallon jugs)
It took some time to make ice in bulk at first, but as it ran more consistently it became a lot quicker. Definitely suggest using the side tank as well for a larger quantity of ice and less refilling.
Keeping it running overnight was the the best thing I found when getting started with this.

The design is elegant and it is practical and easy to clean. Would recommend! Just be aware of the size (pic for reference) as it may not fit in smaller places.

You Must have it!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Oh my gosh! It’s absolutely stunning! The white color is impeccable, and its design is unbeatable. You can place it anywhere, and it will look fantastic no matter what. It’s incredibly quiet, extremely clean, and the ice cubes are perfect for any cocktail. They’re the ideal size and last a long time in the glass. I'm absolutely thrilled and in love with this machine; it's the best thing I've had in a long time!

The GE Profile Opal 2.0 Nugget Ice Maker model XPIO13SW2SS is amazing! Not only is it a beautifully designed stainless steel appliance, but it's worth the space on your countertop. My family has loved the copious amount of beautiful ice it makes, and it encourages us to drink so much more this summer! It fits beneath standard cabinets, and comes with an additional side tank for even more capacity. The Opal makes ice that's top notch and entirely flavorless! It makes crunchy clear nuggets that are wet like typical bartender's ice, but chewable without immediately melting in your drink! If you love cold drinks with restaurant-quality ice, the Opal ice machine is THE way to get it at home! It's designed so that the ice is always freshly-made, and can accommodate parties or large families with a huge bucket and up to a pound of new ice per hour! My family uses ice constantly, but the bucket's never been empty! It's extremely simple to use, and even tells you when it's time to sanitize or descale, which uses a very simple cleaning mode.
