Our refrigerator lasted just short of 3 years before becoming unreliable and triggering alerts erratically. Samsung confirmed we were out of warranty (12mo except Compressor system) for the suspected part(s) - Main Board and/or Family Hub board, and that the best next step would be to coordinate with a technician to come out.
They advised the tech call would be $150 to come out, and the replacement should be $300-$500. When the tech got here they weren't sure which part was bad, so they quoted replacing both the Main Board and Family Hub to the sum of $1300.
The major challenge with these models is that the Family Hub actually controls the functionality of the Fridge, so when it's inoperable or erratic, so is your Refrigerator/Flex Zone/Freezer. Due to this our model has changed in the Fridge Manager, the flex zone drawer category changes, it will randomly report cooling is off for all zones, temperatures are high, or that there's a generic "Communication error".
The only thing that works correctly for some reason is the Freezer (despite the false positive alerts for it), which consistently stays at the same, appropriate temperature. Our refrigerator space is the worst affected, and will fluctuate from 38 to upwards of 60 degrees depending on the day.
We bought a package (Laundry + Kitchen) with our home and since May 2021 we've had a dryer drum balance issue fixed, a dishwasher leak fixed, a microwave replaced because it was so badly damaged from the factory (box was perfect), and now this with the refrigerator, and Samsung hasn't offered to do anything for us given the issues across varying product lines. The stove is top notch though, for what that's worth.
I get that manufacturing runs have problems, especially considering the peak of Covid complications on parts/materials/workmanship, but stand by your brand and your product. For the price consumers pay, and for the perceived level of quality that should come with Samsungs reputation, this is beyond disappointing.
They make beautiful products, they used to make quality products, but I've lost all confidence in them at this point, I won't buy another one, and I'll tell everyone I know to avoid them as well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Buyer Beware - looks cool, but that is about it

Bought this fridge in October 2023 - by beginning of February the water completely quits working. I did the trouble shooting, took out the filter and it worked. Ordered the new filter and installed it before going to work beginning of March. Came home to a kitchen full of water and then noticed that it had leaked down, soaked through the basement floor and pooled on the floor. Customer service was great - at first. It was determined that the filter didn't 'seat right' so it is not their problem. We will have to do an insurance claim if we want our ceiling fixed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a fantastic fridge! Lots of space and the white is so elegant. Ice maker is better in the bottom drawer! Love the hidden water dispencer and quick access to the drinks. Highly recommend :)
