This model seems to have an issue with the start lever. On our old unit the start lever became difficult to engage only after a few months. This new model seem to have already started the say thing. The unit works well though once the start lever engages.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are quite satisfied with this new Cuisinart 2-slice toaster. It performs as advertised. Handles various toasting tasks as advertised. The toasting of frozen items w/the defrost function has performed well! My only suggestion for this toaster would be to add a bell or sound when the toasting cycle is complete. Otherwise a nice product!

Excellent Toasting for a simple 2-slice toaster. Excellent customer service...the push down handle broke within the warrantee period, and Cuisinart sent me a new toaster replacement.

I feel that Cuisinart products are the best on the market. The toaster has 5 settlings and a defrost button. I tried another brand of toaster, gave away and purchase the Cuisinart one. I have had a Cuisinart coffee maker and when it went I purchased another one. I will not buy another brand again.
