Will still burn toast on the next toasting. One slice button doesn’t really do anything, all elements still go on. Only setting that makes a change is bagel.

I purchased the 2-slice toaster based on the Cuisinart reputation and the features. We had problems with the toast staying down to toast and returned it for exchange. The next one we got works great - all the buttons work and it toasts great. The defrost setting doesn't really defrost bread as it almost toasts it entirely - maybe for a bagel or english muffin it may work great.
