I previously had a plastic and metal toaster and was horrified to realize the back side of the toaster had melted due to heat from my nearby oven. I chose this toaster as it is all metal and it does the job beautifully. All breads I have toasted in it to date have come out exactly as I would have wanted and the bread type dial is very easy to use. I also appreciate the lift-up feature on the lever--no more hot fingers trying to extract a smaller piece of bread.

I like this toaster very much, my only wish is that the slots were a little wider for bagels. Sometimes it is hard to cut a bagel evenly, so one side is thicker than the other, the wider side will not fit in the toaster.
