When I needed a new toaster, I didn't want to buy the cheapest toaster, but I didn't need the most expensive one, either. What do I need a toaster to do? It needs to brown bread, bagels, and toaster pastries evenly on both sides, and not let it get stuck inside. It needs to be easy to clean, not take up an undue amount of real estate, and it would be nice if it was attractive. This one checks all the boxes. I have several other Cuisinart appliances, and I believe they are well made, durable, no nonsense machines at a price point that I can live with.

It's very powerful. Have to leave it on #1 to toast as it gets very dark. The plug comes out towards the front instead of towards the back. I like the stainless steel. Wish it had a "keep warm" setting.

This Cuisinart 2 Slice Custom Select Toaster has the look and features that I wanted. It has a dial and gage for toasting bread, bagel, waffle, pastry, and English muffin that can be fresh or frozen. The toasting slots are wide for that big bagel and self adjusting for a thin slice of bread or two. This Cuisinart toaster has a defrost button, and a button for a single toasting. It is easy to clean, use and looks perfect on my counter top. I would recommend this product to a friend.
