Loving this range

I bought this a couple weeks ago to replace an LG electric range, and the bottom line is this range is a pure joy to use. I haven't yet used all the features, but hope to get to some baking with it soon as well.

Excellent oven and superb induction cooktop... with one catch
on January 21, 2025

This "professional" level range replaced the older Frigidaire induction range I had previously.
I was happy with that range--despite its limitations of age and technology--but it needed replacing after years of heavy use.
So: the great things about this range are important and wonderful. The physical design of the drop-in is excellent, with handles being away from heat vents (unlike a lot of designs) and no sharp edges to catch your fingers.
The oven itself is excellent at heating up quickly and holding heat. The "no preheat" really works for many items, as advertised, and when you do preheat for more serious baking, it's relatively quick, very accurate and not too "peaky" at all (I verified this with a thermoworks probe).
The induction top is powerful and excellent, which I've come to expect from Frigidaire. They make great stovetops.
Build overall is a step-up, as it should be, in a range at this level. Is it rock-solid? There are some spot welds here and there that may not last, but overall, it's very good.
So why one star off a full-excellent rating?
Because of a serious design flaw. The induction top is controlled by a touch screen. Yeah, it looks cool, but no, it's not very functional. The touch controls are sensitive to--wait for it--moisture. Now, I don't know about you, but if I'm transferring pasta from a pot of water to a pan of sauce, there's a good chance a stray piece of pasta might land on the controls (which are in front of the burners on the top of the stove).
When that happens--and it has happened to me--the entire cooktop shuts off! When that happens, you need to dry the cooktop, turn it back on, then reset all your burners! Ridiculous.
Similarly, if your fingers are wet / damp, the controls will *not* respond effectively.
It's also worth noting there's no "well" in the range--the top is perfectly flat, so a boil over will spill across the whole range (and onto the controls, too!).
So while the designs here look cool, they're less than useful for actual cooking (and I saw the lack of well when I bought it, so that's on me, but the control wonkiness isn't something I thought would happen).
This is a big negative in an otherwise superb range. Buyer beware: if you're a neat cook you won't have a problem... but if you're a little less dexterous, like I am, there can be trouble.

Cool kitchen

Working with this stove for 3 weeks now. Still getting used to the handles of the Dutch oven still cool to the touch while food is crazy hot. Can't wait for summer to be able to cook in my kitchen and not heat everything up.

From Gas to Induction
on January 22, 2025

Takes a while to really assess the comparison between gas and induction but the first impressions are favourable. The oven is definitely better on the induction range and with some more time, we are confident that the induction too will start to show its advantages. Water boils in a fraction of the time and I look forward to really experimenting with induction.

Honest review

This a visually beautiful stove with its minimal knob design and unobstructed burner surface. The oven with all its mode choices enhances cooking and baking. And when it is said induction boils water fast, it is no word of a lie. There is however a learning curve with this stove and its operational instructions... nothing seems to be very intuitive. Once you get the hang of it though it becomes second nature. The biggest drawback is, as it is for all glass stovetops, is you must be very careful. And where the no knob top looks awesome, knobs would force you to lift pots and pans when removing and prevent scratches to the stainless steel front edge piece.
